Unfortunately this beautiful performance is marred by a mistake: just after 6:47, the orchestra should enter with the change of harmony while the piano is still playing the trill. The score shown is wrong, but the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe has it correct.

This edition of the concerto (and recording) is really weird in that it has a few major discrepancies. Biggest one I can see is that the orchestral accompaniment in bar 320 of Mvt I (6:49) is delayed by an entire bar (it should really come in at 319)!! Their downbeat should begin with the end of the piano's trill. Just noticed this because the original passage in authentic recordings is quite striking - the soloist is resolving to Eb major, but the orchestra interrupts them by suddenly diving into C minor. Seems unusual for Mozart piano concerti.

Une musique géniale hachée par la pub en plein milieu des mouvements qui la rend inaudible. On est arrivé au bout du système qui offre des contenus et qui les massacre en retour.

Thank you for posting this lovely performance, though for my taste the piano sometimes sounds too forward in relation to the orchestra with Perahia's recordings of the Mozart piano concertos. 14,13 et seq. is one of my favourite passages in all of Mozart, beautifully executed here. One question: why does setting the Andantino in the dominant key of B flat major produce tension?

Other than perfect orchestration, use of relative minor, parallel minor, dinished and dominant 7'ths etc. Mozart always has two faces, the happy and the melancholic - you often see fleeting modulations to the above mentioned minor chords then back to the major again and the use of dominant and diminished intervals helps create that pathos. Hope this answer helps.
