Wolf has a song “Don’t Back Down “ and it’s literally just him. In the video it shows him on every instrument as if it is individual band members. I think that is why he is bringing the band in the way he is. Sorry, I am not doing the best job trying to explain it 😂 If you haven’t seen the song “Distance “ it’s a tribute to his dad. Beautiful song and video. I love Wolf he has a good voice 🤘❤️ yo😊

Kinda confusing, but Wolf did record everything on all tracks of this album as well. This is his touring band in the video (but it is actually him playing everything). He’s explained that he wanted to give some props to his touring band by having them in the video.

This seems to be a sequel to his video "Don't Back Down" from his last album where he played all the instruments. That's a great video and song as is this one and well worth your time. I think this may indicate that his touring band is on the album. Anyhow, Ren's latest is soon. Gonna get ready for that! Yoooooo

YO! Amazing that you knew the Van Halens. I saw Van Halen twice back in the 80's. Love exploring the multi generational musicians. Derek Trucks is nephew of Butch Trucks drummer from Allman Brothers. Derek began opening for Allman Brothers around 11 and became a member a few years later until 1999. Also Gregg Allman and Cher's son plays with Dickey Bett's son. The Allman Betts band.

This man hit the genetic mother load! He is an EXTREMELY TALENTED and EXPERT musician and songwriter like his dad and to a point his uncle. His production and mixing abilities are great. AND he can act just as GOOD as his mom!! And just a handsome, but different to his dad! He quite literally got every talent gene both families carry! Then you had his intelligence, humor and humble nature too it. HOLY SHIP BATMAN!!!!

I didn't realise he was a singer as well. I feel like I can hear some foo fighters influence, that kind of stadium rock sound. The way the vocal is mixed it almost reminds me of a Lenny kravitz vocal in places. Like you say, has that kind of 90s feel to it. 🤘

I'm sure you'll agree here, but his vocal tone has such a touch of Daughtry in there .. with the high growl..... Could you imagine the two of them trading vox on this tune.... that'd be fire.

Why are people saying it sounds like Foos? Because it has a big stadium sound? Wolf and his live band are opening for Metallica in stadiums this simmer, so he said he needed heavier sounding songs to go with their audience. Wolf also said he took a lot of inspiration from Meshugah for this album, albeit through the lens of Mammouth. I absolutely love Foo Fighters, but I'm not getting Foo vibes at all.
@michaelgoyettemusic Жыл бұрын
There’s a passing chord at the end of the chord progression that sounds a little Fooey but it’s also used in Journeys Separate Ways….I guess because it’s loud guitar rock at a moderate tempo? I heard ppl say that too…..I don’t think they’re crazy…. But it’s not what came to mind when I heard it. Good for Wolfgang touring with Metallica!! Cheers. Thanks for the insights.

I mean this song kind of screams 90s Foo Fighters, like monkey wrench and Everlong. Because it’s got a fast tempo. I think we’re doing about 190 here. It begins with kind of that high sound the Foo Fighters like to use that are not your standard triad cords. They have moving routes. And then the main body riff of the song is very monkey wrench like also the structure itself is very much like that. So I can definitely see where people are getting that from but at the same time it’s different enough to wear it distinguishes itself quite nicely. And it’s just a good straight up rock song you don’t find too many good rock songs like that nowadays. I feel like everybody’s always trying to go industrial or minimalist pop, but this is kind of a nice in between where you have just enough unpredictability to. Hear the song for the first time and get kicked hard by that riff in the middle.

Wolf played everything on it, he thought the multiple Wolfie's was a funny element to revisit but felt like he really should put the guys in the band in the video... Apparently a little if Dave's sense of show biz rubbed off on wolf over all those tours.
