This song (especially combined with the video) is legit a masterpiece in my opinion. The amount of emotion it conveys is incredible. @BajkonurBobby2 жыл бұрын

I was watching this and it was amazing because it made me feel as if the story was about me as a kid in the 80s. I had the same type of feelings being introduced to the horror movies of the 80s. As it was shown in the video, even though the movie is over, you still take the monster home with you. The monster is in the back of your mind convincing you that he’s following you home and waiting for you on the opposite side of the bed. It’s the way of a child’s mind and that fact really hits home of my nostalgia
@ultimatepeanut83294 жыл бұрын
I feel the biggest part of the song, was this kids first experience with arousal, only for the girl to be immeadatly murdered, and that feeling of "I should'nt be seeing this" that kind of almost guilt from seeing something like that so young. I'm a huge fan of hilarious Jon Lajoie, but this is by far his best song musically speaking. And I love the coming of age/loss of innocence story by way of watching Friday the 13th. I completely relate to it as a horror movie junkie since a young age. I love how detailed it is to the specific scene in A New Beginning and how they really did recreate the entire kill scene. Such a great song, musically and lyrically and personally, and a great video to boot. Well done, Jon. Now to come concert somewhere near OKC so I can listen to both this and Everyday Normal Guy live.

@smsimms75939 ай бұрын
@@Itlivesinthewallit could be argued that in a sense he was, since the only way a copycat killer exists is as a direct result of the original killer - not only that, but Tommy's visions of Jason during the movie add some credence to the idea that Roy was possessed by the spirit of Jason when vengeance over Joey's death consumed him - how else does a guy of average height and build go from being an emergency responder to a nearly unstoppable killer with superhuman strength and cunning? In a world in which a monster like Jason can even exist, it's not that far-fetched of an explanation.

Holy shit Jon! You are 7 years older than me. As a guy loving music and comedy you were a special person for me when growing up. Not like an idol, or at least i didnt see it that way at the time, it was a passing experience, and i didnt listen to your songs on repeat or anything but i knew you were a very bright man combining wit and humour, something i try to do be since before then and still am. Especially your song "i kill people" comes to mind where you handled the theme of gangster rap brilliantly. Back then i didnt have a youtube account, or maybe i did, but for some reason i didnt follow you. Then, in my later 20ies i came across you in "The League" and was happy for you "making it big". Now i see this video and i am simply blown away and in awe with how much you have developed. I DIDNT KNOW! Holy shit, this concept for this song, the lyrics, your voice, the storytelling and the storytelling in the video, the cut with "you" dropping the action figure as you lost your "innocence"... i cant even put into words how genius i find this thing. You turned a core memory into a wonderfull piece of art and told it so fucking well. The writing on the lyrics is impeccable with perfect use of the alterations of You/Him/Me in the prechorus. How you ended on the "ou"s in every verse and it came together so perectly. The return of the first lines in the finale. I am amazed! You did the world of art a masterful service. And how am i finding out about this just NOW!? Thats what i get for not "following" you on youtube back then. In retrospect i should have given you more attention and you probably have been an idol to me and most definitely are one to me now. Thank you so very much and greetings from Vienna PS: I think i have listened to this song like 15 times already, and it has been an hour since i know of its existence. xD Also on factual inquiry: Did you watch the movie through back then or did you leave early, cause it seems like that in the video ("oh brother we should leave now"). And you only touched on this briefly in the video and with the pastor line and the shame, but did you actually pray back then, and for what? Or did you think you did wrong? I know this is highly personal, but i just want to know every contextual fact there is to know about this wonder :P

Wow, man, this was so powerful. Great work. That last shot of the kid terrified in his bed, that was me after watching scary movies. They messed my little mind up.

I listened to this song on repeat in 2017-2018. To this day, I love this song.

This is great. Great idea to write a song about the first time you watched Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. Can't say i've heard it been done with a song that wasn't comedy. Loving this serious project, and excited for more comedy.

This is making me cry. The music and the COMPLETE ATTENTION TO DETAIL of that scene. I only discovered this because of RLM. I think this is the best KZbin video I ever saw. She was so beautiful in the movie. Yes she was naked, but for some reason she looked REALLY naked. My puberty development went up so much when I saw this movie when it came out. It was just a sleezey memory, but this video with the words and music makes that memory so much more. This is true art. Thank you for the feelings I’m feeling.

Well said. Although I wasn’t quite at puberty age when seeing it for the first time(that would be part 7), it certainly gave me nightmares to no end, in which I probably resembled that poor kid in bed, sweating profusely and paralyzed from fear? This song and video is an absolute masterpiece. -80’s kid

I have to say this song is officially my new favorite thing. I have listened to it every day for the last week and have shared this video to anyone who I think would appreciate it. Despite the fact that the video speaks to me on a very personal level (this was I and my brother's first Friday flick watched many times over), the song is outstanding on its own.

This was my favourite song of the year as soon as I heard it. Now there's a music video, too - 2016 just got better. LOVE you Jon. Thank you for keeping the last few embers of intelligence glowing through the mainstream darkness.

Jon... I have only now discovered you, and this has got to be one of my favorite songs. It is brilliant to say the least. How... and I don't know if this was international. But you wrote this song as if 5 year old was exaggerating the film. Giving the actual song an authenticity. It is, for lack of a better word, a master piece. Keep up the great work man. Absolutely amazing.

I like coming back to this song quite often. This reminds me of when I was young in the early 90's watching horror films and the feeling that I was doing something I shouldn't have. Movies have been a huge part of my life since I was very young and the discovery of things I didn't learn from school or my parents from films were very impactful as a child.

I’ve only now discovered this and have it stuck on repeat. This is my young adolescence captured perfectly. Incredible song and stunning video. It’s weirdly emotional. Thank you.

I'm a kid of '80s and I'm big, good music enthusiasts. Also amateur musician. I knew some of your comedy videos already but today accidentally i found this one and I've stayed frozen as that kid in video. It is amazing song, amazing job 👍 11.08.2021

If someone knew McVagina and this song but didn't who made them, they would've never guessed that they were made by the same person. This video is beautifully made visually and lyrically, and Mcvagina is simply a god
