In 1968 & 69, I'd take leave and drive down from Whidbey Island, WA. I'd hit the OR - CA border about midnight, and pick him up on the car radio. I'd motor on down Hwy 5, often pedal to the metal. Not many cars on the road. Those were the days, the good, the bad, and the ugly! I'd do it all again! There ain't nothin' like the U.S.A.

Radio was so much better back in the 60s and 70s. Nothing like having your little transistor under your pillow late at night and pick up stations far away! Either listening to top 40 or baseball games on the beach or late at night during the winters. Gone forever are these days! N.Y., WABC, Cousin Brucie, Harry Harrison, Ron Lundy, George Michael and all the rest that stay etched in the memory of the 60s and 70s generation.

Takes me back to my High School days when I used to listen to KRLA Radio in Los Angeles. I didn't discover KRLA Radio 1110 AM - Los Angeles until I realized that back then(In the late 70's) that they were the Official Radio Station of the Kings. As a High School Student, you have to keep yourself entertained as much as possible regardless!

Wolfman was the greatest. When I first heard him I was a guard, walking around a B-52 fully loaded with the biggest of guns. This was in the late '60s. At about 2am nightly, I would hear from my little transistor radio, "This is the Wolfman coming to you from Del Rio, Texas". He then would try and hawk old crusty blues tunes that nobody ever heard. It was funny as hell and added some spice to a dreary existence.

What a shame there aren't any archive full radio shows with The Wolfman. Can't believe nothing is out there. Maybe everything was destroyed or has to do with copy rights.

Would be nice if the Wolfman could be resurrected and help us combat political correctness. A natural indeed and all-time great. Watching American Grafitti now.

eagle, the WOlfman was always able to tread a humorous borderline, but I'm sure he never wanted to insult anyone. He was already "PC" before it was a thing.
