I’ve found that these little gunboats usually don’t have much if anything for aft armament. A fun attack is to maneuver dead aft and then do a close range high speed surface gun run. You can usually detonate their depth charges in just a few hits and put them under before they know what happens.

I really wish there were more subsims. I'd really love to see someone re-do SH5 in a modern engine, with more features, more boats, better interiors, better crew management. UBOAT is close, but its a little far from a true sim to really come close to being as great as the SH series. It'd be even more amazing if there were a bit of an online portion where you could randomly run into engagement zones where players could take over destroyers or something, if you enabled "online play"
