As a Navy Veteran, all I can say is, my CO _never_ said that! But I served in the dark age that was the 1980's; when a "cellular phone" had a battery pack the size of a small suitcase, and it weighed over 20 pounds. Because of this weight, people usually left them in their car. Hence, the more common terminology, "car phone".

There it was, just sailing along. The Kongo. When all of a sudden, the sky was black with airplanes. Next thing it knew, the Kongo went from battleship to submarine.

@18:27... I'm not going to lie, seeing that Kongo go down made me smile. I had a Great Uncle aboard the USS San Francisco from November 1941 to the end of the war. He was in every fight she went through. 13 November 1942, they faced two Kongos; Hiei and Kirishima. Frisco crippled Hiei's steering during the Battle. Frisco was hit 45 times, including some 14" hits. But survived. All my Great Uncle ever said about this Battle was, "All my friends got killed." He died in 1996.

Somehow the combat situation again converged torwards historical reality: the IJN did lose 2 of their 4 Kongo-class battleships (Hiei and Kirishima) in consecutive battles around Guadalcanal. Also 24:36 very typical IJN circle formation protecting the mainstay of battleship. The guys who made this MOD know ther stuff.

Do you do this every video because I kind of like it? Giving a broader overview of the war than just the operations in the Southern Pacific and seeing how Wolfpack's actions affect the war. I like that kind of added-on story.

Wolf, have you noticed that "the other base" (Cairns) on Australia is a Supply Base like New Hebrides ? You can get fresh supplies from there... Didn't see you use it on this video, might have missed it before, but just a heads up...

Great series.My expertise is in ground warfare not surface warfare but the first attack went very well on the battleship near Moresby however maybe using one Dive Bomb wing to hit a Pickett destroyer to mitigate the L shaped flank from AAA i think would have saved an Avenger or two. Just hindsight analysis. Awesome videos.

Are you not healing your damaged but not “destroyed” compartments for a difficulty bonus? Red and yellow damage can be healed in a tactical view with no enemies around and increase longevity of the ship

Exactly - they're just throw away assets and the enemy won't use them in kind. If I ever pick this up (which is doubtful), I'll have to do all kinds of things to restrict difficulty. No subs, maybe launch no more than 2 aircraft at a time, things like that to at least try and make the game challenging. Maybe surface fleet engagements only are the only way to make it interesting at this point? I definitely can't fault Wolf though, it's not his fault the game is the way it is. :/

That already exists in the beta version of the current game, There are 5 difficulty settings and in several of the difficulties you need to release the CV to reform the airwing....

Hi, AI in TE is little weak, but the reason for permanent presence in New Guinea/Port Moresby is because control of PM is victory condition for IJN. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that the case. Rgrds

I whish you could hover over a sinking ship to see the damage you caused, and the ammount of sailors that died and if the crew on your ships got to low certian thing would take longer and you could run out of crew etc. They should also add co op campagin so you can invite one of your freinds in for a 1v1

The main reason that the second Kongo survived where the first Kongo sank, is because you forgot to pick AP bombs for the strike on the second and instead taking SAP, which would not have penetrated the decks to hit the vital compartments... What happens when you launch AP bombs on a battleship is what happened to the first Kongo. They sink, Fast.

I think with how little command points you are given for sinking the enemy you should go back to using B-17's with Bombs but only target smaller ships that have large quantities like destroyers.
