Why did they used to sink like that? In 2.7, you can’t even kill them, because if you lower their health enough, they run away and despawn.

Theoretically, it's always been possible to kill bears; it's just a matter of multiplayer lagging sufficiently to allow you to kill it, and that varies-per-server/host. It's just quite hard to find most servers, whereas other people find it easily. ;)

The bear is further being worked on, due to it rarely being illled by players because they run very fast, there is no animation for the death of the bear. The bear just walks but dosent move whilest you can go through it :)
