5:52, it does not look like it's a boost chainring, and hub don't put the cassette too far in, so the chain line should not be the problem. But as this is a copy or rebranded Sunrace, or sunrace made the cassette for them with their design elements. I don't know which is the case. But the tooth profile, ramps, are the same or close to Sun Race, keep in mind if you use 34t with 46t cassette with Sunrace or copies, the chain will drop during backpedalling. But if you go down to 32t problem is solved. These casettes don't retain the chain as well as Shimano or Garbaruk for example. This is due to the tooth profile. And the bad shifting performance is due to the ramp and tooth design. I don't know which chain is used, but the chain can also reduce or improve shifting performance. But this chain does not look weird, so I doubt it's that. By the chainring clearance it looks like you have a pretty big chainring. You should go down to 32t, this will reduce noise and improve chain retention. But you can't make it super quiet, the tooth profile and ramps make this cassette more noisy during shifts. 13:48 the chain drop is not due to the guide pulley, but it makes it more problematic cus you have to align the narrow wide withy he chain. But that's simple to do. But backwards chai drop is unacceptable for me. This cassette is not good. And I think you need a smaller chain ring to make it work.

I put this groupset on a friend's commuter bike and he loves it, wasn't really sure how it would do on the trails, but I'm impressed, probably replace the jockey wheels and retest it

I use ax11 the first thing I replaced is also the pulleys. Just cheap aluminum sealed bearing 13t pulleys. Narrow wide restricts the chain flex required when shifting + the problem you mentioned. Almost every rd I use, I will always replace the pulleys.

Im a LTWOO user for a year now. I like its performance per price ratio. All our bikes are with LTWOO kits. We can't call it a group set because LTWOO has no cassettes, chain and crank of its own. Its really responsive, silent transfer from 1 cog to the other. Unlike from my Shimano experience which have a distinctive sound when changing cogs. When shifting not under load, you cant hear any crunchy sound. You can only feel that it changes from one cog to the other. You can search for the LTWOO history. I think you'll be surprised.😊

We like the performance for the price as well. We consider a groupeset as shifter, deraileur, and cassette but we always appreciate the chain as well. L-TWOO included the chain as well as the other items and we tested/reviewed it as a complete groupset. As for cranksets, we rarely see them in package deals, but we would love that to become the norm. We have not researched the history of L-TWOO but have heard that there is some ties to Sram and they seem to have a huge Filipino following, so we are guessing that they are either made there or they are a huge market for them. Good video. I appreciate the time you must have spent setting up the long shots and multiple cameras. The up shift out of the lowest gear when back pedaling reminds me of the old joke where the doctor asks a patient if he smokes after sex. If you asked me if I ever experienced the same up shift situation, my answer would be the same as that patient; "I don't know, I never looked."

Vittoria tires are great! I run the e-martello and e-mazza on my emtb. Shifting seemed good on the cassette. You don't "need" a gear indicator...you push until you can push no more!!!

I bought this exact same groupset and wow was it an adventure! Only thing not to fail was the the chain itself. Cassette: largest cogs was warped out of spec so it was hard to find an adjustment that wouldn't drop the chain and still shift into the largest cog (52t). Shifter: mysterious up-shift that would let out all the cable on rough trail, happened a couple of times. Hard to tell if my riding was more abusive, the trail you rode on looked very rough, but I also had my 4" tires inflated pretty firm and no suspension. Derailleur: lost so much spring tension by the end of hour 1 it couldn't stop the heavy cassette from feeding chain forward. The chain was flinging right off the chain ring every single time the thought of coasting crossed my mind, even in the smallest cog! I also found this group-set unusually more sensitive to backpedaling than my shimano mixed slx/xt setup. It felt very durable as a set and solid when riding on smooth road to the trail, if it wasn't for the derailleur spring and rough terrain I could see this system lasting a long time. When I sized my 12-speed sram nx with a sunrace 11-51 tooth, I had to use an extender like that wolf tooth you used back in the day. I ended up using the entire shimano chain. I had to add +2 links for it being 12 speed and +2 links for the extender, which left me with only 1 link left to remove, so I just left it. The nx so far has shifted well, but I haven't been able to do hard riding with re-racking the drive train, so I can't speak to that. Observing the comments, it looks like the issue of jumping cogs when re-racking the drive train is common amongst the 12-speeds. Great video btw.

As this seems to be rebranded or copy of Sunrace. It would be interesting to know how the group set performs long term. Will the cogs be bent? Will teeth get sharp edges and be bent? So will you have to use sand paper to smoothen the teeth and ramps? Will there be okay in the biggest cog? So will it get a shifting shifting point after some months of riding? Thus becoming usless? That's an issue I had with sunrace 11-50t the othe tissue si had on 11-46t too. The play in the 50t was horrible, it meant each shift the next shift would not work. I have Archer d1xtrail so I can adjust each gear, so different than a mechanical system, which wire tension effects all gears. So I adjusted these gears but every time yhe shift was different. So the cassette got retired.

I run a 1x8 on my KHS and replaced the original group set (advent now ;-) ) the original ('S-Ride') would do that and the advent dont... ie drop a cog when back pedaling ... i did cut it down alot by adjusting the cam on the shifter (which does translate in moving the derailer) but that S-Ride was garb...

Have not yet had to size a 12-speed chain, but on both my Mtb and road 11-speed groups (XT 1x and Ultegra 2x) I run about the same amount of chain slack without issues. The backpedaling seems to be an issue for a lot of 12-speed bikes. especially bikes with short chainstays and wide hub spacing (most likely something to do with the tire clearance and therefore crank placement on those bikes). had the same problem with my older 11-speed hardtail a while back, but after some realigning of the chainring (removing spacers behind bb on the drive side) the problem was solved.

Chain falling off from back pedal is caused by chain line. Move the chain ring in. I never have that problem with my 12s setup.

Could you please test the ultra budget long cage RD-M4000 rear derailleur? There is a $25aud $15usd knock off version called m4000 on my eBay. This shimano derailleur is the longest cage AND it has an in built 30mm derailleur hanger extender attached (even the knock off) I'm using it with 10 speed with great results but I don't own 12 speed shifter/cassette to test if it will shift every gear with cable pull ratios etc

I've never personally tried out the L-twoo stuff. Seems decent for the price in all fairness. I had a 12 speed casette that used to do that while back pedaling as well. Pretty sure it was a sram GX but it was a few years ago. It drove me bonkers on the trails though!!!

Let me drag you down into the weeds for a second. I try to set my chain ring as close to the centerline of the bike as the center of the cassette. On a 12 speed, that would be between the 6th and 7th cog, on an 11 speed, in line with the 6th cog. First I determine the frame spacing at the rear hub, e.g. 135mm and divide by 2 = 67.5mm. I then measure the cassette width, e.g. 40mm and subtract that from the 67.5mm to the centerline of the rear hub. 67.5mm- 40mm = 27.5mm. 27.5mm is how far the inside cog of the cassette is from the centerline. I then add ½ the cassette width, 40/2=20, to determine the distance of the center of the cassette from the centerline of the bike, 20mm+27.5mm=47.5mm. I then attempt to locate my chain ring the same 47.5mm from the centerline of the bike. Now the easy way: Pull the chain off of the chain ring. Place a straight rod or dowel along the outside of the chain ring and see where it falls across the cassette. Add salt as needed, bake in a preheated oven at 350 for 25 minutes. I have a SRAM SX Eagle. After I used the magic B screw adjustment tool that came with it, flipped my power link correctly (they are not the same as a missing link) and tweaked the cage, I have had great shifting.

That trail looks like real hard work, but you did really well bro. To be honest, I can't really see the point of having narrow wide jockey wheels. I don't think I've ever lost a chain off the jockey wheel, surely the derailleur keeps enough tension to elimante this? Also I don't think it'll stay aligned properly all the time which would also cause issues. Just seems to me a bit of a pointless gimmick, but the carbon looks cool! I went back to 2x. 32-22 in front. 11-36 in back. Equilavent to a 32f 51r 1x for climbing and nice tight ratios. And doesnt drop chain backpedaling. Narrow wide jockey wheels? Riding for 30 yrs. Never had a jw derail....wtf?

Yeah we might try that out for a videos idea. The Tick didn't have a actual derailleur derail but the narrow wide of the chain and the narrow wide of the jockey wheel got miss aligned while riding. He says it didn't mess him up but just bothered him because he could hear it clicking. Hopefully that clears it up a bit😆. Thanks man👍

I rather get Shimano m6100 sgs or m5100 sgs which is supposed to be 11 speed, but I don't know what the difference is, as they seem identical apart from Shimano above on m5100 sgs, both do 11-51T. It has a clutch. The m5100 hg cassette shifts smooth, and makes less noise. Just be careful with the plastic spaces, so dotn be brutal and try flexing them or dropping them and stepping on them. The Deore cassette works well with KMC x11 series chains. Some retailers list m6100 as 11-12 speed. Mabye the m5100 don't have as big range I don't know. I've not looked at them side by side in real life. Nor tested the m5100 sgs. But the m6100 sgs fits both 12 and 11 speed chains, it works well, the cage has enough room the teeth on the pulleys fit.

You are running the brakes too far out, too close to the grips, but the issue with some shifters is that you can't have the shifter and the brake at the right angle and/or position, but for me most shifters won't fit me. I have my brakes positioned for one finger braking. If possible I would move the brakes in and have shifter between brake and grips. But won't fit with all shifters and brakes. You seem to have the brakes positioned for two finger braking. I never do that. Only time I needed that was with bad mechanical brakes when I was a kid. My hands were hurting I had to press hard an duse 3 fingers to be able to stop at high speed. It was promax brakes with Shimano trigger shifter rvake combo, horrible, I don't have the enow so can't test it as an adult. But my Trp Spyke were fatiguing in the start but my fingers are stronger now. So not an issue anymore but I guess mechanical brakes with a firm return spring is not a good idea for a child with weak hands.

I run one finger braking also. Even in the biggest oh crap moments, I only would ever use one finger. Two finger braking you start losing grip of your bars

Like I said, the mounting is a little weird due to the brake lever setup...The shifter cannot sit flush against them.

I had a drive train that did that and it turned out to be a poorly fitting cassette...in other words, it wobbled on the hub. I would give that a check and see that your cassette is tight. In my case though, tightening the cassette nut made no difference. Tolerance was not good.

On a 135mm spacing rear end that 1st gear is pretty far inboard. With “boost” frames the cassette sits further outboard aligning that 1st gear cog a little better. The other problem might be the chain. 12 speed chains have little bevels and cuts to prevent this from happening. Cheaper 12 speed chains may not have them. I used a cheaper KMC chain on my SRAM 12 speed and it hated life. I finally broke down and bought the $60 SRAM chain and it worked really well, no other adjustments needed. So if the LT-woo appears to copy either Sram or shimano, you might try one of the good chains.

Most 1x drivetrains will jump off backpedaling in 1st. The alignment is really bad and there is nothing on top to control the alignment. The derailleur controls the alignment at the bottom but it can't do a thing for the top. I'm really surprised you haven't seen this before

These type of carbon shifters and brake levers are very dangerous and should come with hazard warning. As the aluminium eats away at the carbon. The rider is breathing in microdeposits of dangerous carbon fibre particles. Stay away from carbon fibre for health & safety reasons

Part of the derailleur is carbon, not the shifter and brake levers. I believe the chances of any carbon particles affecting your safety is heavily outweighed by the chances you take riding a bike. Interesting how carbon fiber particles is what you chose to focus on when it comes to MTB. To each his own🤷 Thanks for watching👍
