Wolverine #1 Reveals He Has "Fake" Adamantium?

This is not "true adamantium" nor it this adamantium at all. It is adamantine, the god metal that adamantium is named after. It is the stuff that Hercules' golden mace is made of. It is a godly magical metal like Uru from Asgard, the stuff that Mjolnir is made of. A variant of Logan named Governor General Jamie Howlett had adamantine instead of adamantium laced to his bones and it granted him extra powers like psychi immunity and the ability to cut through magic. Astonishing X-Men vol 3 #44. On his world, he and Hercules were the world's greatest heroes and lovers and Herc gifted Jamie with the metal of the gods.

That is exactly what I thought when I saw this golden metallic substance. And the fact that the metal was calling adamantium false felt like a big indicator of that as well; because adamantium is nothing more than a human imitation of that fantastic metal. Due to the fact that it has mystical properties I wouldn't be surprised if it was sentient, not unlike mjolnir with Tempest's or Odin's essence trapped inside. Perhaps it will end up being something else, but it really looks exactly like the adamantine bonded to that wolverine variants claws.

I think the difference between these two adamantium is basically the difference between an element and a compound. What Wolverine has is a compound, it's a combination of different metals that made it so strong. What this appears to be is the pure actual elements of adamantium itself that is naturally occurring.

They dropped the ball on this one making his adamantium "false". The Children of the Vault established there are 11 types of adamantium IIRC. Sarafina changed his adantium to adamantium 9 temporarily. They never established the other forms.

Honestly, Wolverine saying that Krakoa is going to make them soft really just comes off as somebody who doesn't know how to do anything else other than fight. Which kind of describes Wolverine as a character. Really Krakoa allowed all mutants, including Wolverine ,to be able to relax for once of their lives. Really him even bringing it up now just feels like cope because he does miss it too.

Yes, two things can be true at once, but Are you seriously going to tell me that the mutants didn't really deserve a place to chill. After the 60 plus years of constantly running and hiding from robots in government organizations trying to kill them, they don't deserve a break? Maybe Krakoa did soften them, but at best, it softened them from iron to gold.

He told Beast that Krakoa would make them soft. And then Beast went full-on utilitarian evil genius. The only people that Krakoa made 'soft' were villains like Apocalypse, Magneto, Black Tom, etc. The heroes were, if anything, made harder, more pragmatic, more ideological but less idealistic.

This is looking to me like it's setting a bit of brand synergy with adamantium coming from the Celestial. They won't make it exact, but adamantium (or in this case that seems to be referencing Olympian 'adamantine') will be from some living alien source with whatever humans created being looked at as lesser). Wish Cap4 went with the Celestial ore being an ingredient of what will end up being adamantium though.

Some old mentions of adamantum describe it as some kind of aloy in marvel. The formula was refind from the prototype version used to make captain americas shield in clasic marvel

Correction... Adamantium is an attempt to recreate Adamantine created by the Olympian God Hephaestus. Captain America's Shield is a Adamantium and Vibranium hybrid Alloy. The creator fell asleep and accidentally created it. Attempts to create golden Adamantine resulted in silver Adamantium instead. Attempts from others to recreate Adamantium resulted in Carbonadium, osium Steel, and few other Lower grade Adamantium knock offs alloys.

I’m not 1,000,000% but I’m pretty sure the origins of Adamantium was created when a scientist was trying to reverse engineer and mimic the properties of Vibranium. In fact, it was an accident, and he accidentally created to new alloys. The one we know the most is Adamantium…. The other less known alloy was Anti-Vibranium…. which, despite it being not as known as the first two is, perhaps the only alloy that can combat the other two, because it’s ability to do the opposite of Vibranium. Instead of absorbing energies, it vibrates in a way that causes the molecular structure of metal to lose its strength and liquefy….. or at least on paper. I’m not exactly sure how real Vibranium would hold up to the Anti-Vibranium…. Considering one of Sorbs energy and the other one releases energy I’m not exactly sure who the winner would be. But I do know from comic book history, that Adamantium can cut through Vibranium….but Anti-Vibranium can destroy 95% of any metal, including Adamantium.

Originally adamantium was man made, I speculate that this retconned Adamantium is going to dove tail into the MCU version of Adamantium, that is an element & origins are Eternals based. We will have to wait for the Captain America movie to find out more.

Captain America shield is not made of Adamantium it’s made of vibranium and a special metal they tried to copy cap’s shield ( without vibranium ) but they made the first adamantium instead and that adamantium origin
