Not that I as an atheist really care what religions characters are but Kurt was hardly the "one major Christian". Captain America (both Steve Rogers & Sam Wilson), The Punisher and Daredevil are devout Roman Catholics. Luke Cage is Baptist, Colossus is Russian Orthodox, and Cloak & Dagger are both Evangelicals or Born Again. On the DC side 2 of the Trinity are Christians, Batman's Presbyterian, he even built the Gotham Presbyterian Hospital in his parent's honour. Superman was raised Protestant by the Kents. And Nightcrawler is alive and well. He was on Iron Man/Magneto's team during the recent Civil War 2. Magneto's Jewish and Tony Stark is an atheist BTW.

Nightcrawler is one of the few characters who is known for talking about his faith. In the movies and cartoon series, he is usually depicted as Catholic and believing in God. The rest of the characters you mention like Colossus have never mentioned their faith in any of their cartoon or movie counterparts, and I can't recall a story where it was central at all, just a footnote. Nightcrawler is the exception.

I'm talking about comics and they have all mentioned their various faiths at some point. Mentioning only movies & cartoons is both irrelevant and a strawman because Jim clearly said "hole COMICS universe" Also, Cap says in The Avengers regarding Thor, "There's only one god ma'am and I'm sure he doesn't dress like that." proving he does believe in a Christian god. Daredevil is often seen in church trying to balance vigilantism with his faith. Cloak & Dagger's storylines are practically episodes of Touched By An Angel. I'm saying that there are, in fact, other prominent Christian characters, but it shouldn't really matter anyway. You don't hear Muslims asking why there's only 1 prominent Muslim character or why her costume isn't a full body burqa.

Nepthu well I've always liked night crawler because well he was an honestly good guy awesome fighter and he was always a person of faith even in his attitude at the very beginning even though he didn't come out and say let's pray until a couple of issues in to the actual rebooting X-Men in the 70s but I always identified with him because I'm a bisexual Christian I feel like I'm a freak among freaks it's really hard to find somebody in the comics that are people of faith that aren't villains and or week
