Woody is nearly 33, we should keep him but Taiwo will be his replacement, maybe that’s our solution right under our noses. I’ll put my hands up and admit at the end of last season I said we needed replacements for both. As their fitness was my main worry
@ForestFan7416 күн бұрын
Me too! I have not been one to say we need to move him on. We know what he is capable of! 100% fit and firing he will bully every defence in The PL he has done it already with us. I would look to take a younger up and coming forward to cover Taiwo if he breaks down again. COYR!

Utterly brilliant game, exciting yet again and yet another clean sheet for the best keeper in the division. I don't recall another manager who's got such a solid vision and method for how to play at the top level that isn't mainly about possession AND the ability to communicate it to a clearly smart collection of players that all appear to understand what they're doing and WHY. Wonderful show again Matt and panel! Bring on Liverpool, what a game that will be!!!

Very nicely put Mark, it's a journey we're on with moving-door moments all along the path. We're talking about Europe but could have easily been talking about clawing our way out of League 1. When Nuno arrived, he was very clear in his praise of Steve Cooper. He knew that without Cooper and the players who brought us up and kept us up, there would be no Nuno at our club. Onward and upward together. COYR.

Few key points: Brilliant win. Literaly messaged my mate 30 seconds before gibbs white scored saying ' i hope he scores' after thosee disgusting chants about his partner and mother to his child ( yet again). Thiught wolves were unfortunate to be 2-0 down at half time. We must have given up about 3/4 goalscoring chances that wolves should have scored at least 2 from. So we looked pretty shakey when balls were whipped into our box which wasnt like us on current form. We could have lost that had it gone a dfferent way ( but it didnt). Gave ball away too sloppily overall but so did they Sels was fantastic. Deffo should have been a pen to us andnot even being sent to the monitor was ridiculous. Much more compact in second half. Absolutely clinical at the sucker punch. Gibbs white, hudson odoi brilliant and anderson again the unsung hero. When milenkovic brushed ther player aside in the second half shepperding it for our throw in and had a wry smile after it 😂. Somplease for Taiwo, his own reaction and the reaction if other players when he scored. He was a ma on a misson to score. Realy pleased with hudson odois travelling with the ball tonight and great pass across to ward prowse of all people getting up there ( which was nie to see) and big T sweeps home. Overall a great win but a lot of lessons to learn from ( learning while winning isnt abad thing) as we were far from perfect, but we were brilliant at what we do on the counter

17:23 ⚽...agree👏 the ting Sels do there, "building the attack" with one long ball, 🏹 is not to be underrated. It so precise. Sels has been so insanely good for us. And I personally belive his personality givs the players motivation, room to work (I mean look at Murillo he has been an assisting keeper several times. Delegated roles, tight-work) ...and a he isn't dominating. Matz Sels let's the players in front of him shine. He has become the engine behind the players mentality in front of him. The fact he didn't want the ball played inside his box when we was struggling and pressed into it so often, was wise. We are good enough now that if teams against us is a bit afraid of pressing that high and not having all the possession, he probably can start being a passing player too. Because his feet is great. But things like that must be used only a few times throughout 90 minutes.

I haven't been sold on the benefits of James Ward-Prowse, however last night his run down the right to receive a perfect ball from CHO, and to lay the perfect low cross in for Taiwo to score was so professional and so much being part of the team. I wonder if Taiwo has stopped laughing, crying and celebrating today.

Never in doubt once MGW scored. OK, Wolves had 2 or 3 very good chances, but our Keeper and Defence were AGAIN solid - those two Selz saves worthy of any keeper in the PL - he's in the Top 3 this season for sure. If we can qualify for Europe - even the Europa Confernece League - I expect this squad to stay together. Why would Murillo, MGW or Aina WANT to leave !? Still need another No.9 though - we HAVE been fortunate with injuries so far - great Awoniyi scored - and another v Luton would really help his confidence. Despite being a man well into his 50s now, I can hardly sleep right now for excitement !!

CHO was pretty much Tuchel’s favourite player at Chelsea and played him wherever to be able to start him, including playing right wing back. In the same way MGW got a leg up from Carsley history, I expect CHO to get the same with Tuchel

What wolves need to learn is it's unwise to wind a player up as they did mgw, but he gave them the perfect response. Also great to see Taiwo score at last but great result from a tough game🙂

35:50 Mark, I belive Matz Sels is a team player and it looks like he saw players needed "a kick in the butt" regarding mentality, that ...of_course ..took a lot of his focus early on before things started flowing. This challenge anyones performance. Now he has less of a burden on his shoulders. Some ppl are like that. I genuinely belive his role hasn't only been a keeper ...and even when I say all this ...I don't think he is that kind of person that leads as a captain either. He just is "one of the guys sticking to the winner mentality" ...a true Captain with big C... to me is more of a Nikola Milenkovic I guess. But it could be bad timing changing dynamics as things is now ...Yates is our Captain (sometimes MGW) and they focus more on their own play than fx Remo Freuler did when he had the armband. (I belive Matz has some of Remo's character in getting that winner mentality under the skinn of our players. Like "magic drops" in the tea or something, lol. He just stick with is no matter what.)

This weekend of games has shown up the inconsistent nature of handball decisions. I was really surprised the penalty wasn't given purely due to previous rulings this season. However, each decision this weekend is viewed it definitely shows that officials all the way to fans really do not know for sure what the rule is.

Did anybody notice Murillo “carrying” his left leg at some points- was that the one with the adductor problem ?
@PrehistoricPro16 күн бұрын
He's always limping & doing stuff like that. I wouldn't worry too much. Nuno, as a manager, has a reputation for not risking players getting more serious injuries. If he's playing it's because the medical team were fine with it. Plus, he'll be rested for Luton this weekend anyway.

Although I don't agree with the chants, MGW's girlfriend is the cause of any animosity with Wolves fans, which contributed to his departure. She said Wolves & their fans werent good enough for him, despite Wolves investing a decade into making him the player he is today. Anyway, we only lost today so you get into Europe & pay us the full value of MGM's transfer ;)
