The Junction pack makes an very early morning yearling kill at the end of the Lamar River bridge. We had heard that they trapped the bison yearling crossing the bridge and brought it down on the east side of the bridge crossing the Lamar River. #yellowstonenationalpark #wolves

Ya know I did leave that out, but there was a bear that was about half mile away wandering. My guess is he might have smelled it but I never saw it approach while I was watching. It was cinnamon black so maybe it didn't want to risk it, or maybe at night.

Me too but I think if this was sitting another 40 yards off the road there would have been tons of them. The wolves did come back after it was move and took most of the bone away.

Yea - that road at times is the only way those two remote towns have for getting to a store, doctor or school. In June, July and August its crazy out there.

I didn’t realise there were such busy roads in national parks. In Australia I don’t think we have those, I’ve never seen one

Well you should visit one day. Yellowstone is 3,472 square miles (8,991 km2) - so yes are their a number of roads in Yellowstone

@@Yellowstonewolvesso your parks are quite small then, with Yellowstone only 8,991 km 2, our biggest (Australia) is Munga-Thirri-Simpson Desert National Park at 36,260km² or 4 times bigger than Yellowstone, the next biggest is Kakadu at 19,804 km2 which is still twice as big as Yellowstone. Kakadu is rare in that it has roads running through it. Most national parks do not have major roads but are designed for camping.

Plenty do have roads but the majority don’t. Kakadu N P (2 times bigger than Yellowstone) has the road to Arnhem Land, Daintree N P has a road to Cooktown for example.
