I learned how to hunt at an early age.. By 9 years old I was hunting with a loaded gun on my own.. The first rule I learned was don't point the gun at anything you don't plan on killing.. And don't kill nothing you don't plan to eat.

It'd be great if you did something to reduce the intensity of the noises, and music in the background while highlighting the voices of most of the interviewees. Except for that feature, this documentary is an excellent material I quite enjoyed watching. My respect for you all.

I have seen only one wild wolf in my life. I was deer hunting in a tree stand when it came across an open field and laid down to watch his back track. The whole time I watched him every hair on my body bristled, I'm not sure why, but it was such a rare and majestic sight. I have also seen wolves in captivity and it is so sad to see because all they do is pace the fence line. Wolves get a bad rap but the do serve a purpose in the ecosystem.

Wolves (canis lupus), coyotes (canis latrans), and domestic dogs (canis familiaris) are closely-related species. All three can interbreed and produce viable, fertile offspring - wolfdogs, coywolves, and coydogs. ... Scientistscan identify a coywolf from a coyoteand a wolf, and a coydog from acoyote and a dog.

What I don’t get is how Americans just love dogs, and wolves are these gorgeous dogs…. They are exciting! And beautiful! People don’t like sharing and to have the wolf around means to share. We give a bit…. We sacrifice some things (total cattle safety vs wolves). We needed to be control freaks to survive the ice age. But being control freaks now, isn’t working. We need to outgrow our caveman’s attitudes.

People didn't kill wolves because they didn't understand them. They understood them fine. Wolves cannot coexist with settled human populations, i.e farming. It was either the farmer or the wolf. There aren't any settled human populations that coexist with wolves, ever. It's not our fault or their fault. Farming engulfs resources, which leaves wolves looking to those same farms to replace the ungulates that used to forage there. Does that mean they should die out? No. But if we care enough to save wolves, we have to give them back enough land so that prey animals keep them fed. Not doing so has been disastrous in BC. The benefits of returning the complete ecosystem are becoming clear. But who is willing to move away from nature in order to save it?

I love wolves but this video is not worth watching because those that made it obviously do not understand what life was like for pre-industrial Europeans. Also, I wonder how those that study wolves would feel if someone locked a bulky collar on their neck, then came back later and asked, "hey buddy, how's that collar working out for you?" The Wolf would say, "It sucks! You are putting extra stress on me and my environment by making me wear this and following me around scaring off my prey. But you can't see that."

They only collar a small amount of wolves to learn more about their habits and to make sure the pack is healthy. It has not shown that a wolf with a collar has negatively been impacted compared to a wolf without a collar. The collars are able to show biologists if there is a health issue within a pack that could kill off the pack. The collars also can be remotely removed if it was showing to have a negative impact on the wolf.

I want to thank all those who have worked so hard to reintroduce the wolf we can now draw a tag or buy one and hunt them... have you ever stalked a wolf and wait and wait till it comes into bow range,,, it’s not easy by no means then it most of the time takes 2 or 3 arrows...thank you all now work on them grizzlys.. I’d love to hunt one of those ...

Ha ha.. did I get you,, mad sad and way miss informed... look at the picture of 25 wolfs killed in one day way back when... for anyone to be able to kill 25 wolfs in a day that is over population at its best. And who are all you jackasses to tell these ranchers how they should live.. them people raise the beef you eat so till you stop eating meat your kinda playing both sides aren’t you.. another thing the south San Juan’s ,,, yea they won’t put up with it...them hill folks are dangerous ...did you see New Mexico them wolfs are gone fool and I believe the gov was glad for it.. anyway I don’t hate them but I do hate bullys and that’s what a lot of you people have done to the folks that live in those areas you threaten them call them names and harass them.. that’s what gets me and till I saw that I had no interest in hunting a wolf cause I won’t eat it... now dream of slamming a fixed broad head into an alpha that way the whole pack feels it... legally of course...

Stop ganging up on ranchers you cowards,,, oh here’s another thing most of you that are running your holsters don’t have kids don’t own a home aren’t tied to nothing or no one.. just a pain in the ass.. if you cared you’d work on marking it right to the rancher that loses 4 or 5 racks a year,, can you afford to lose 5 thousand a year ,, would you be happy about it ,, do you like being harassed by someone ... work on all that and you won’t have people like me speaking out or planning to buy tags to take a wolf. Be fair don’t run over the same folks that have been feeding you all your life...and just for info perp there’s at least 15 hunters just in my fam... at least.. we grew up out doors ,,, being out there alone for days is not a big deal to us...'

Nice video.... but so limited in its actual depiction of wolves. Wolves walking around. Wolves sitting. Wolves walking around. Kind of boring in the end.
