Was there as a 9 year old in the wolves end. What a day, what noise, when even the league cup was a major trophy. Happy days, won with fight that day against a great city side. Luckily only 6 years later was there again when we beat cloughys forest 1-0. Pride and passion back then, never be seen again sadly

I completely forgot that the great Denis Law was at City in 1974. He went to the World Cup in Germany too later that year. No doubt City had a decent side in 74 with Summerbee, Bell, Marsh and Booth. But Wolves won and they too had some good players: Richards, Dougan, Sunderland and a rookie goalkeeper called Gary Pierce who had a blinder.

Should've won. City battered them. Wolves keeper had a charmed life that day for sure. His save from Marsh was on a par with Gordon Banks save against Pele in 1970. Wolves got the luck on the day
