I don’t think the problem is that hard to explain. Look at when the much talked about Declan Rice became available. United had been tracking him but the cost was too high. BECAUSE WE ARE UP AGAINST FPP. Years of bad recruiting and worse contracts has put MU in the position where they can only buy average or less players. We have a bad team because we are too broke to buy good players. Liverpool buys great players and gets better. We can only afford mediocre so we get mediocre performances. Fix the money problem.

Amorim f'up. I'm a fan of his, but he should've waited until the end of the season. Not only he screwed over the club he was managing back home, because he was about to achieve something they hadn't done in 20years, but he got handed a club with a mediocre team and with players completely demolished mentally. That locker room probably has less life than a graveyard. I doubt he could save something from this season by going shopping in January, because no one in their right minds wants to go to Utd right now. Lets not forget they're in 14th, any other team at this moment is better than them, and even if they are promised the world you just need to look to the recent past to doubt those promises. So, whoever comes will come overpriced in wages with skills that won't match because that's the only way United will have to get someone. ETH should've stayed until the end of the season (or kept Ruud) and they should've signed Amorim to come in the summer. This way Amorim could've prepared the next season the proper way.

Why do people expect like a top 4 side after the manager's been in the job less than 2 months. If you look at the Liverpool team that went on to win the league under Klopp, how many from the lineup were in the team when Klopp first took over? Over the course of 2-3 seasons he signed Firmino, Gomez, Mane, Matip, VVD, Salah, Robertson, Alisson, Keita, Fabinho and the bulk of the new squad went onto win a title and a UCL. Ten Hag signed 10-15 players, most of them for 10s of millions and they just aren't good enough because Ten Hag and the staff were no good at making signings, he had to go. Amorim can only be judge when he's been given this Winter window, the Summer window and then lets see what his results are next season. Some form of European football would be a great start and then build from there. Nobody should be expecting titles for 3-4 years until he's developed a full squad that can all play his system and if he's not good enough, they won't get there just like Arsenal can't get to the top with Arteta.

@@camerounburke370 For one, they keep a consistent formation from match to match and swap out players to best suit the teams they’re playing. EtH would literally change the shape of the team relatively frequently and most commonly in big games, which is obviously the best time to have guys have to think about/remember their roles on the pitch. Amorim said it best one of the first days he came on board - something to the effect of that he’s going to stick with his idea of how the team should look/play, regardless of the teams they’re facing that week. Very long winded way of saying consistency in approach is the big difference between Amorim and EtH - Sometimes with EtH it felt like he was literally throwing darts at a board prepping for matches. I don’t get that feeling with Amorim.
