Barbara was beautiful. So sad that she was not loved by her father. That was all she wanted. Seems Gary Grant was the only decent person who didn’t marry for her money. Am sad for the little girl to grown up. 🌸🦋

Fathers who don't love their daughters make self-destructive daughters with low self-esteem who keep choosing the wrong men as a process to their destruction. Like Barbara Hutton... like Cristina Onasis...

What a tragic story. And what a contrast to someone such as Margaret Merriweather Post who was also enormously rich but an active businesswoman.---I remember that in the 1980's two biographies of Barbara Hutton were published very close together. One was so full of lies that it had to be removed from bookstore shelves. The biography that was removed had something about Barbara's diary and Cary Grant her former husband was asked about it and said he never knew Barbara to keep a diary at all.---I also recall reading a Vanity Fair article about Farrah Fawcett who portrayed Barbara Hutton in the television production mentioned in the description. Ms. Fawcett said she hadn't been too concerned about dressing up but after portraying the Woolworth heiress and having to be dressed and groomed to match her, Farrah Fawcett said she became more interested in how she looked and dressed. Ms. Fawcett, also as a result of portraying Barbara Hutton, became interested in jewelry and for each acting project she was in would buy one piece of jewelry to add to her personal collection.
