The defendant’s daughter was so right to send her that message, but I’m guessing by her attitude of calling it harassment, the piece of shit could not have learned anything from that message. Ironically the defendant is named Karen - one of the few I felt sorry for - Since she's wearing a bandana in the way she is she's obviously on chemo - even removing her illness from the equation, she seemed more honest to me (she said the only reason she didn't earlier refund the plaintiff her security deposit was that the plaintiff didn't leave a forwarding address). I pray she's feeling better now.

There's something really wrong with that plaintiff. She called the police over a diffuser that is roughly $51?! She couldn't even prove that the defendant took it. For all we know, it's possible that the other tenant who was living there found a way to get into her room. Who's to say that the other person didn't take it? When I saw that text message from the defendant's daughter, my first reaction was, "what?! Why would she call the police over something as petty as a diffuser!?", not to mention going after someone who is battling cancer? People like the plaintiff are just SICK!

The bigger story probably is that the plaintiff was asked repeatedly not to use the diffuser (or at least not use over-powering scents in it). The diffuser might have been in her room, but the scent was everywhere in the house. The other tenant might have been annoyed by it, but it's likely that the smell contributed to the landlord's post-chemotherapy reactions, which would be reason enough for a rational person to stop using it. But we know the plaintiff wasn't rational.
