'She came in at 7:30, and I was asleep and she WOKE me.' That explains why the daughter did not call her mom, mommy does not like to be woken up. 'I went into mommy mode'. Which did not include taking her daughter to a doctor to make sure she was okay. In the stress of an accident, people may not feel injured till hours later or even the next day.

@@mymobilebuddy4392 The production company pays the judgement - the participants agree to legally drop their court cases to appear. Besides transportation, meals, and lodging, they will pay the judgement. As a former senior nurse in heart and lung surgery HDU, what has the fact that her daughter has asthma got ANYTHING to do with this? Some parents use ANY lame medical excuse to get their children off the hook. I hear it a lot with diabetics too. All a load of rubbish. If her daughter's condition [and she looks fine to me] is that bad, she shouldn't be stealing cars and driving around when she should be in bed! A 14yo girl out at that time! Social services should be called!

The hardest but most important job a parent has is teaching them that actions have consequences and that they are responsible for for their actions. Sadly this mother will never understand that her not wanting to upset her daughter has led to a lifetime of not holding her accountable and is the reason she was out at 3 am in a stolen car.

Judge Judy showed more motherly compassion and kindness when you care about people you don't allow them to endanger there lives and that of others. The mother and daughter are so fortunate to have only suffered monetary and material loss instead of loss of life or disabilatating injuries. Life is precious every living being. Lina Santos

Not necessarily. I have know my brother in law since I was 8 and he was real trouble. He was involved in gangs and used drugs. He turned his life over to Jesus and became a completely different person in his mid 20’s. He is now in his late 60’s and is one of the most decent people I have ever known. The change in him was immediate once he became a Christian. His Christianity is real.

"Mommy mode" should begin when your child is a toddler. It begins with the word "NO" and eventually a slap on the butt if the child resists. This mother is a failure. Her daughter is already lost to any form of accountability for her actions. She'll probably end up in prison...
