Woman Confronts Her Mom About Scientology

Just incredible. This young woman has an understanding of how evil Scientology is that far surpasses that of people three times her age. And you can see in her mother how resistant she was to accepting that Scientology isn't what she thought it was. By the way, the mom ended up becoming a fierce advocate against Scientology.

I once was in a relationship with a guy who was into Scientology and took me to this big mansion in Dallas (off of Buckner Road somewhere). Where I was greeted by a group of staff who were eager to have me fill out a card. Then they wanted to give me a taste of what clearing a person meant. They had some kind of a machine they used to perform that function. My "bolting" point was when my then-boyfriend at the time, took me into a chapel with a nice big picture of L. Ron Hubbard, who was obviously the point of focus and worship. I couldn't wait to get out of there! Fast forward, I wound up dumping that boyfriend, who in turn stalked me for a period of time. I had to change my phone number and was very close to filing a police report. It is definitely a cult.

I love the man who said he got more out of admitting he had been in the cult than he ever did being in the cult. I don't know at what point people question that they may be in a cult, (I'm assuming here it would be as you may be "waking up" to the fact?), but any of you out there who may be, just remember that statement. It's very true. It can be obviously difficult and painful to come out of and have to face things, but you will be moving in the direction of good, strength, actualization and true happiness in taking that first step. You will reclaim your life and you will be stronger than you ever were! TY Leah for your commitment to expose this criminal organization. You've brought people laughter which is healing and now you're helping those victimized by this cult heal and likely PREVENTING potential joiners. You are doing much good. 💗

Coming from that experience, I wonder what you think about the larger cult of capitalism that kills some 68,000 people each year (including many children) with its healthcare system alone, not to mention the drone bombings of weddings, hospitals and "fun-size terrorists" (i.e. poor, brown children), the cluster bombs still killing kids in Laos as more go to Ukraine, or the other various ways corporations collude with the government to kill poor people for the worship of profit.

I used to do a group meditation with a woman who paid for the $5,000 introductory course. She started using the lingo and selling Scientology to us practically overnight. Lucky for her they reg’d her too hard ( she was working as a waitress and had little extra money ) and it served as a wakeup call for her. Years later the only thing she has to say about it was she felt like she was going into a trance and all they ever talked about was buying more courses. Never mess with cults, group think is real and dangerous.

No one likes to admit they were taken, fooled, manipulated. It can be hard to admit we were wrong- human nature. But making excuses for the bad behavior of others or for ourselves for trusting them just perpetuates the bad behavior, even criiminal behavior. Great video❤!

This is why they think Trump still has so many supporters. They supported him in the beginning and can't admit they were wrong. They call it The Double-down Effect, I think. Where people literally convince themselves rather than admit to believing a lie or supported people that turned out to be greedy or manipulative. They will ignore the bad but track the good.

I wish I could have this kind of conversation with my parents. They are elderly now and I've come to terms with the fact that having this conversation would simply result in me not getting to be a part of the last years of their life. Even with both being OT8 and having done nearly every service available in the religion. After the constant stalling of OT9 to the point they must know they will never be alive to see it (they wouldn't accept it doesn't even exist) they will continue through there entire life clinging to the hope they didn't waste the last 45 years of theirs. It saddens me, but I love my parents and such is life.

How very sad. I agree you just have to go along with it at this point. Even if you had absolute proof of a variety of things what good would that do. You don't want your parents to know they watsted so much of their lives at this point. I don't know where this is but previously someone was talking about all the level being put on the internet. I think they change the levels, pretending they found some new revelation so they can charge you for the level again.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Nothing is more precious than our children. Fortunately the Bible is full of doctrine about how we are to behave and the shear volume of those passages far out number anything this cult is using to push its agenda (judgement, being humble and kind, not speaking in anger etc). Here's an idea: (I'm an ex Scientologist btw): approaching it gently from a biblical standpoint, being careful not to come across as judgemental. "I'm really concerned about the strong judgments that feels like it's encouraging hate against others that I'm hearing from your church elders, because throughout the Bible it says..." (Insert biblical passages.) "I feel" statements like: "I feel like we should be striving to be more like Jesus, I want to work on that too." If that's true, it'll come across as though you are in it with her and hopefully encourage her to take a look, see the truth and start questioning her churches behaviors and values. You could take her to a different church that you know doesn't have that insane rhetoric and is very welcoming. You could speak to a pastor and get their advice. Having her experience the difference may help. Also being honest, "it really hurts to hear you so angry because I love you and want you to be happy.." I hope that helps in some small way. She's lucky to have a very concerned and loving mother ❤

Unbelievably creepy and sad 😔... the wickedness of their existence! In the 90s, my mom took me to Fountain Ave outside this magestic looking blue castle building with dark doors.. we stood outside and was approached by a weird lady and man. My mom begged, asking if they would take me in and train me cause I was the obnoxious problem child.. my sisters and brother beg my mom not to leave me there. They were Robots in my sarcastic undeveloped 14 year old brain! We thought they were really a religion and somehow could help me be a better daughter through the help of whichever Godthey served. They didn't end up taking me cause we were dirt poor living in a onebedroom with a single mother and her touchy boyfriends. Looking back now ... I can say ... I dodged a bullet for sure with them not wanting me. Back then I wonder why wasn't I good enough! Ha! If anyone was ever strong enough to take them down, It Would Be Leah Remini! The IRS should be knocking on they door for multiple audits for evading taxes for all these years ... how do we still have poor hungry people in Cali? Everywhere even! Worldwide! When the churches including this one just kept getting bigger and bigger. The people in charge have deep pockets, stealing from people who think they are actually assisting or aiding the less fortunate.. The young lady was right we all got took. We reason with ourselves that the good outweighs the bad ..so we endure and carry on. But I am glad that they see Remini was as loud as she was then and now... bring the fight to their front door! This is when giants fight giants! Remini will win! Bravo for this family! And the mama.. ❤OK I Got Ripped!

Wow.. they have 🚬. Seems odd. How the world works. To believe like that. And to not be aware. Strange place to be. Can't imagine any of it. Like where I am. In the land of awareness. Thanks mom for being aware as well. I am so grateful to not have been subjected to this way of life in America. Faith can be a bad thing in the hands of bad men. Its almost as if they were born blind...to the soul. Cant see it... therefore not aware. Your soul is all powerful. Trust it. Love it. Live it. Peace to you all who read this far.

Thank you, this was a powerful reminder that this has been going on for decades and that it needs to stop. I would love to hear more of their story and see if they're okay today. ❤

So interesting to hear such a candid open dialogue! Would love to see more “vintage” videos about Scientology if you have them.

Joining a church shouldn’t take all your money or control you! It should be about faith and love.

I remember seeing those ridiculous "Dianetics" ads on TV back in the early 80s. I was a kid, and I was like "why TF are they showing this garbage in the middle of my Saturday morning cartoons?!?" Then came that crapfest that was "Battlefield Earth"... I walked out 20 minutes into it, and if Travolta is reading this, you owe me 5 bucks.
