Yeah, unfortunately it seems like she may have been looking for some quasi-romantic/parental figure in this man. Combined with her psychopathic characteristics and his sexual exploitation of her, she eventually turned to murder. I do feel sorry for her to some extent, she obviously needed adults in her life helping her make better decisions, but it doesn't justify the murder.

There’s no way on earth that I would allow a 16 year old girl in my care to live with a single man, I don’t care if he was related to us or not. Why did her parents allow this? The whole thing could have been prevented. The multiple personality fantasy just muddies the waters.

Some parents jump on the opportunity to allow someone else to care for their violent/volatile children because they are just not able to correct them. One woman I knew told me many years ago that she allowed her troubled 16 yr old daughter to marry and leave the home because she just could not handle her anymore. I believed her. After hearing about this 17-year old’s alcohol and substance abuse while living with this “father figure”, my first thought was ‘talk about contributing to the delinquency of a minor’. But it got worse, Hal was grooming her. But probably not to kill bunny rabbits or commit homicide. I feel more sorry for the rabbit than I do for Hal. He was a pervert. People eat rabbits. I am actually an animal lover and would never intentionally hurt an animal unless it was trying to kill me. But the bunny thing is still a margin call. Teenagers do not think like adults and they express extreme stress in all kinds of messed up ways. This guy was a predator. Our justice system is so screwed up she may not have had the choice to just tell the whole story honestly without suffering undeserved consequences for it. She was using substances she couldn't buy herself. She was obviously having all kinds of screwed up thoughts. That's all kind of standard for young victims of sexual abuse. The guy had it coming. She should get some punishment but not life. Our whole system is built for revenge, not justice. Justice would be showing people the error of their ways and trying to help them to be better. Most of them never had anyone to do that. That's usually why they are in prison in the first place. Everyone can't be saved, some people are just evil. But sending them to how to be a monster school doesn't seem like the best idea to me. Especially since most of them will get out one day. I don't care about revenge. I'd just like less violent crime. Had he survived he wouldn't have been charged with anything even after everything came out. Technically legal doesn't mean ethical. I hate these kinds of stories. I feel bad for the bunny but I feel bad for her too.

You should look up the story of Jeni Haynes, an Austrialian woman who was diagnosed with DID after horrific abuse from her father. She actually got justice YEARS later as an adult with the help of a detective who abused her. She was able to get a lot of evidence, many of it medical. Crazy story. She described her "alters" helping out with all the info they contained for her.

I appreciate you finally making a video where you do not go hard against the existence of DID.. I do wish you would update yourself on the current research and information surrounding the diagnosis. While there is no such thing as a murder alter, and many attention-seeking tiktokers fake it for clout, it is truly a very devastating diagnosis with an incredibly sad criteria. Before we go around taking a big s*** all over people with this disorder we need to remember that it is caused by unrelenting and horrendous childhood abuse. I beseech everyone here to please consider whether they want to be the kind of person who continues to silence our most vulnerable demographic or if they want to be the kind of person who says they believed them and supports them and wants them to heal. Children already have no voice and no choice when it comes to the horrors they face. To deny their lived experiences incredibly cruel

I mean this 100% serious. I want to hear Dr. Grande read a grocery list. Love his voice and style
@justinphoenix21
@justinphoenix21 5 ай бұрын
Hi, this is Dr. Grande. Today's question is, can I analyze this grocery list. Just a reminder, I'm not diagnosing any food items in this video, only speculating about what could be happening in a grocery list like this. This grocery list was created on July 29, 2013. It was created on standard paper stock, suggesting a certain level of practicality and perhaps an adherence to traditional shopping methods. The list starts with "2 gallons of milk," which could indicate a high demand for calcium, possibly a large family, or perhaps an insatiable love for cereal. It's also possible the person making this list is preparing for a baking marathon or simply enjoys having an ample supply of milk on hand. Next, we have "1 dozen eggs," which is interesting. Eggs are versatile; they can be used in baking, breakfast dishes, or as a protein source. This choice might suggest someone who values nutritional balance or perhaps enjoys cooking. It could also imply a planning mindset, as eggs can be stored for a relatively long time compared to other perishables. Moving on, "3 loaves of bread" are listed. This is more than what a typical small family might consume within a fresh period, suggesting either a larger household, a preference for freezing bread to maintain freshness, or possibly an upcoming event that requires ample bread. It could also hint at a comfort with redundancy, ensuring that the household never runs out of this staple. The list includes "5 avocados." Given the popularity of avocados for their health benefits and versatility, this could suggest a health-conscious individual. However, avocados have a notoriously short window of ripeness, which might indicate a risk-taker, someone willing to gamble on the ripeness of avocados. Or, it could simply reflect a love for guacamole. Finally, "chocolate chip cookies" are scribbled at the bottom of the list, almost as an afterthought. This addition might reveal a hidden or repressed sweet tooth, suggesting that even the most health-conscious individuals have their indulgences. Alternatively, it could represent a reward system, a treat for completing the shopping task or for managing to stick to the list's healthier items up until the very end. In conclusion, this grocery list might suggest a household that values nutrition, has a practical approach to shopping, and enjoys the comforts of home cooking. However, the inclusion of chocolate chip cookies might subtly hint at the list creator's latent desire to deviate from the norm, indulging in behaviors society might deem less than savory-much like the psychopaths who, beneath a veneer of respectability, harbors a penchant for the forbidden.

I'm a longtime viewer and a Patreon member, and I have similar opinions in most analyses. However, I am also a treatment provider for those who have DID and find the spread of misinformation on this channel disturbing. Simply because people attempt to fake DID (as people do with many other mental and physical health conditions, particularly trying to get out of criminal responsibility) does not automatically mean they are not valid conditions. I'd be happy to consult if you want accurate information regarding DID rather than making conclusions and determinations based solely on cases where people are trying to get out of criminal responsibility. In general. But some have co-consciousness with one another and in therapy they all gradually develop that as the boundaries break down between them. The host personality is often unaware of any of the others until this process of reclaiming traumatic memories begins. I do not believe that she suffered from DID, although I do think she was abused. It was still no excuse for murder.

Dr. Grande, I love you and I have listened to you, every video, for years. How can you not see the grooming? He literally targeted her at her job and seen the vulnerability in her life. She moved in with him before she was 18! In my opinion 18 is far from a legal adult age(Should be 21). He changed her body to make her more appealing and downgraded her to his family/friends. In my opinion she was a victim as well.

During the first trial it was known that he had kept a log of everything he paid for well before she turned 18 He told her she couldn’t leave until she paid it back and had to have sex with him while she was there He told her if she left he would be able to find her and terrorized her This was a set up from the beginning and he was the one who made her have the surgeries, telling her she was ugly He had breast implants on the list next This was all proven and why her sentence was reduced It was her counsel that dropped the ball They chose to not use this at trial for some reason, thinking insanity was better than abuse legally She didn’t have DID That was the defense psychologists pushing it Her lapses in memory were from being drugged constantly It’s not hard to find this info I like the stories and the doctor’s chill voice but his humor is redundant and it’s annoying how many times I’ve watched this show and saw him haphazardly leave so much out that’s readily available and only requires reading more than just a single short article It’s not that hard to do basic research on a case

Dr Grande, please do a video about the murder of a Russian opposition leader Navalniy, who was murdered in prison this week. This is massive news as it comes during Russian elections and a successful Ukrainian destruction of a large Russian battleship. Might this have been a revenge-murder of a political opponent ? Certainly an expected tactic used by Putin, as described by Guriev in his book "Spin Dictators". PS: 1 year ago, you reviewed president Putin. Today, he caused Navalny's end. It would be poetic justice to discuss the life and mission and end of Navalny. PPS: He was buried this week. Thousands of supporters showed up to the funeral despite the government's fear apparatus.

Although Hal was the victim, he was not an innocent victim. He put a mental and emotional stranglehold on Sarah from an early age with his overall support and financing of cosmetic surgeries. A very well balanced review of the case. Neither victim nor murderer came out of this with glowing reputation. I'd say pretty much spot on with essentially a cash/place to live in exchange for sex relationship. Maybe there was also some emotional element to it too. Did he love her? Did she see him as a stable person looking after her - something she craved? Life is rarely simple but murder seems to require absolute and black and white judgment. Was he an evil manipulative man; was she an evil murderous monster? "Pick your side" the media seems to ask. Thanks for a more nuanced look at this. The best of your reviews that I've seen. There's an ongoing court case in the UK at the moment - Constance Marten and Mark Gordon - which I think deserves a deep dive by you once the court case is over. It's tragic and hard to understand.

You don't believe in DID? It's a legitimate condition caused by severe repeated trauma - CPTSD - and Hollywood is much to blame for giving it an unreal aura. But it exists. If people say they don't believe in it, as if it's a religion or a political ideology, all I hear is that they refuse to believe anyone could really have to suffer that much trauma just to live long enough to become independent and escape abuse -- and that, almost always, peacefully; very rarely the way Sarah did it. And no, though it's clear she was traumatized, I don't believe she had DID. She is fully guilty.

People are so distracted by the "grooming" part they are not recognizing shes a literal psycho path. And a psychopath is a psychopath groomed or not groomed. And as a psychopath she could have been taking advantage of him being a creep. Alot of people appearently dont understand how a psychopath operates. Think about how people are sympathizing with her. She knew what he was and possibly thought there was a chance she could get away with murdering him because people would take her side considering what a perv he was probably. If you are to preoccupied with labels and stances you could label something inappropriately and deal with the repercussions in your own life. She could have been the actual groomer. Lets focus on victims who dont kill innocent animals and murder men just because they wanted to know what it was like. Stop giving murders excuses. Plenty of people have been actually groomed and been through it without victimizing innocent animals and resorting to murder outside of self defense. Which she openly admits she murdered him and that animal just to see what its like. Just like a psychopath. Call a duck a duck.
