Taxi's front seat is a necessity for me; when there's an extra person, so it will be needed. It's kind of rare for customers to sit in the front over here (NYC), unless it is needed. Some drivers put their things on the passengers seat, and you'd be lucky if it was offered to you (especially in the case where there are too many people). Also, these drivers don't put on their seat belts (it's an exemption), so I'm good in the back.
