For those wo don't know, pre-eclampsia is extremely high blood pressure in the mother during pregnancy. If sever enough, it can cause a stroke, heart attack, and kidney failure in the pregnant woman. Before the Republican "medical" party interfered, we used to immediately hospitalize the pregnant woman for treatment, sometimes inducing labor. What was done in this case was not only cruelly inhumane, but it also risked the life of the mother (who already had a child) and her ability to bear other children. This is the control of the fascism that has become a part of the leaders of the Republican party, dictatorial control by the government at the expense of the people. We need to save our country from this. VOTE BLUE BECAUSE OUR DEMOCRATIC FREEDOMS ARE AT STAKE.

Over 55 years ago my mother in law was forced to carry her baby to full term that they diagnosed as dead inside of her and it devastated her mental health, changed her as a mother towards her other kids, and never let her get close to anyone again. My good friend was getting married and found out 2 months before the wedding that she was pregnant. Two weeks later she found out the baby had died. The doctor offered to let her and her fiance to choose to terminate the pregnancy that day or schedule for a later date. They decided to do it that day. It was so tragic, but they were able to grieve together and minimize the emotional and physical trauma. They were able to have a beautiful wedding and it was a day of joy for everyone. That was 10 years ago. Today, if that happened, they would not have had an option to terminate the pregnacy at all because all abortions are banned in Oklahoma. What do Republicans think people are going to do? How much do they hate women??

As maddening as their story is, please know that many, many women have gone through similar situations. We lost six babies during our childbearing years, three miscarried naturally, but two required medical intervention to remove the tissue that didn’t pass naturally, and one baby had to be taken at 18 weeks. This loss was incredibly devastating due to the fact that I had to carry a dead baby for a month. That entire time, I had to endure well-meaning comments from anyone who saw my swollen belly, such as “when is the baby due”, or people simply patting my belly asking if it was a boy or girl. If only our lawmakers, and the many opinionated protestors, would do the research and learn the facts involving why women get abortions, BEFORE making such drastic laws or threatening women with harm just because they had one. NO ONE knows the medical discussions between a woman and a doctor, and like any other medical issue, no one should. We’ve now taken away a doctor’s ability to inform his patient on the best course of action, or give that frightened woman any words of encouragement. Also, the rhetoric that they all keep saying is simply not true. Most abortions happen in the first trimester, and there is no such thing as, “an abortion AFTER the baby is born”. That is murder, and no doctor would be allowed to do it, nor would they want to. They can only to provide aid and comfort if the child is unwell or severely disabled.

Abortion at 6 months still entails labor & delivery. The only difference is that they inject the fetus with saline so that it's not alive at birth.
