@@VarjoPira Do you have any idea how many dogs are out there in shelters who have been there for as long and longer without being adopted? People don't like black pets, I imagine him having three legs is a hindrance and because he can only go to a home without any other pets, and I'm not sure what other issues he has come up that rules out a lot of people. In our shelters they would have euthanized him after 5 days. Euthanizing for space is far more common now for shelters than before the pandemic.

Hello, Benjamin does not have any issues. He is simply a tripod that needs to be the only pet, and people overlook him for this reason.

Gosh, this really choked me up. There are too many great dogs and cats in shelters today. I have four large dog rescues with me now. Two of them are now elderly. I adopted them both when they were each ten years old and I've had them now for five years. I know that because of their current continual care and comfort, I cannot take on another dog. However, when they go on to heaven, I will be reaching out to this shelter to see if Benjamin is still there. If he is, he can live with me and my other two dogs. This story almost broke me.

Me too. I am on my 1St bunny ❤. Bunnis are the 4th most surrendered animals. I cannot have a dog right now unless the dog is tiny and young enough for my Baby to be the alpha. But this doggie seems so sweet. The 💔thing about being an animal lover is that you wish you could take them all.

I wish I had a house with an extra bedroom..and I can tell this little boy would be such a good boy..but unfortunately I do not and I would have to keep Baby 🐇and him separate not because the doogie would intentionally hurt my girl, but because she is under 4 lbs. and unpredictable in her moves..and a doogie often in overexuberance can harm buns even if he may not intend to. I sure hope the little guy gets a good home with lots of 💚.

Oh my gosh. I volunteer at the same shelter but at the main campus, not the community one. That’s why I haven’t seen him. The main shelter is always full, sometimes close to 400 dogs. This shelter is the county shelter for the largest, most populated county in GA. They do great work for people and pets in the community. I recently adopted my foster fail kitten from here. I pray he finds a home soon! I already have a full house so I can’t take him. If you read this and can’t adopt or volunteer consider donating to Lifeline in Atlanta ❤️ 🐾

Oh this is heart breaking. He looks like my old man Harley who I rescued at 11 months. Harley passed away at home at 14 years old. I still miss him. I can't believe that Benjamin has not found his forever home. I pray that his forever family has seen this and will jump at the chance to bring him into their family. Bless you Benjamin.

My elderly mom is a triplegic (paralyzed to 3 limbs) and I take care of her all by myself. Her dog passed away from cancer a year ago and he was my only helper in this house. I can’t afford to take on another life, but I would LOVE to foster this guy. However, judging by the surroundings in the video, I just know I live very far away from this sweet boy. I just looked up Benjamin's profile. It says he's in foster care so hopefully that is full-time foster care. I have two cats and would be interested in adopting him. However, his profile says he doesn't like cats and has to be an only pet. Not dog, but pet. I hope somebody can give Benjamin the best home ever after seeing this video. No animal should ever be in a rescue or shelter for 1000 days. It breaks my heart.

People just don't care to make a commitment who knows how he lost his leg but why abandon a dog like this, he clearly has a sunny disposition and would make a wonderful pet for whatever time he has left. Too bad we're not permitted dogs in the building where I live and I asked several friends who own homes but since they already have pets, they didn't want to add more, I hope he will find a good home soon!

I love his eye brows! I just can't believe he hasn't been adopted. I would take an older dog over a puppy any day. I would love to have him. Where I live has a 40 pound weight limit and I spend a lot of time indoors as it's an apt building and I'm 69 years old. I have owned 56 Pitbull's in my life and he has some Staffordshire or Pittie in him. I'm betting he's about 48-52 pounds if the video is accurate. As I said I would own him in a minute but, I most likely do not qualify! I will be praying for him and you as well. Great job!

At the time I only had 2 dogs...one day hubby said "it's me or the dogs!" ....so me and my SIX dogs (all rescued)...live happily ever after 😆
