in cases like these. i absolutely agree. but there are many times murder is committed and it requires a little more nuance because of the context in which it happened. this case though was exceptionally evil and violent. it’s important to remember people can change. prison should be a place to reform people not just leave them to rot
@annataymond952911 ай бұрын
In this particular case there are a few major factors, one being these were all children. Children are undeveloped which makes treating psychiatric illness feel more doable. There’s more room for growth and by default more room for change. Another thing is the horrific childhood of the ringleader, the fear of the younger ones, and the fact that a couple turned themselves in and confessed. I’m not at all surprised that a kid who had been constantly sexually and physically abused and watched everyone around her constantly sexually and physically abused for literally her entire life would not mentally comprehend the problem with something like this. Frankly I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner. Her distorted stunted mind knows this type of behavior as completely normal. Problem is, even if she does respond to treatment, it feels risky to have her in society because of the potential there may be for a relapse triggered by her stopping treatment.

I agree with you, but with the exception of Amanda. Replace her name with Toni. Toni didn’t go out of her way to help her 3 friends to partake in this murder, BUT, she did not go out of her way to help the actual victim herself either. Amanda, not to excuse her from any wrongdoing, but she wasn’t there during this hours long torture and murder of Shanda Scharer. I read both books: Cruel Sacrifice by Aphrodite Jones & Little Lost Angel by Michael Quinlan. Both books varied in some of their details in them, but Shanda was frightened and terrified, as she should have been, but from what I gather, Amanda knew that threats were made by Melinda to and about Shanda, obviously. However, Amanda didn’t take Melinda seriously, even though Shanda was scared at just the thought of Melinda being around, and now here we are. Shanda is gone. R.I.P. Shanda. 🙏🏻✨❤️✨🙏🏻

It was a difficuit story to watch. You find stiffer penalties for rapist where they get life in prison. They did rape her overnight repeatedly with a tire iron. The narcissistic murderers in this case should have gotten life without the possibility of parole because it was pre-meditated. The judge knew that ut was a well planned out crime. It is difficult for us to watch as viewers yet alone how her family feels about the lack of justice for a crime so diabolical and inhumane. The judge and those on the parole board must not have a soul to have those psychos running around to kill again at the convenience of getting someone else out of the way. The world is sick and the justice system is flawed by those elected into office. Those murderers got to live with Shanda's blood on their hands and the justice system has to live with allowing them to be set free knowing the severity of such a hanis crime. I hope they all have found Jesus because they have rotten hearts. Kharma comes back around in many forms and can skip you and go straight for your kids. The justice system opened up pandoras box when they allowed those four women to be released back into society. They will weap what the soe. The victim or the victims family were not even considered for them to make such a flawed decision with their release. You find stiffer punishments for Black rappers that are sentenced in prison. This case definitely turns your stomach because justice was not served. They have simply made the murderers the victims in this case like they went through too much and it was time for them to live their lives. It is a sad state of affairs it turns your stomach anyway you spin it!!!
