When I was in my early 30’s I was exploring the issue of how I wanted to get pregnant, as a single woman. I had several inseminations with frozen donor sperm. I wasn’t getting pregnant, so the doctor suggested fresh sperm from a source he had. I got a weird feeling about it and said no. This is exactly what I was suspicious of! Interesting to learn that it does happen. It’s a violation because the anonymity is one-sided. It’s creepy! I ended up adopting, by the way.

Not only that but regardless of how other commenters think she´s wasting her time. The doctor was working at a sperm / fertilization clinic. They offered those sperm donors in exchange of cash. And if we assume the mother is telling the truth. Not only did the doctor simply not deliver what he was paid for. And it doesn´t matter how you personally feel about people being able to select their donor based on credentials ... But there are enough stories of those kinda creep doctors jerking their own noddle off and falsely selling it ... I mean if that´s how it goes she could as well have saved a lotta money and ask the next guy for a quick wank because there sure is not a lack of males available to provide just that ...

One could argue that the doctor isn't protected from donor anonymity agreements because he is the owner of a company. He would in fact violate that clause himself maybe even nullifying it. Moreover, there is a conflict of interest as the doctor would have been violating patient-provider confidentiality too as the patient (woman's mother) has a right to how her health information will be used, (i.e. her egg is mixed with his sperm), and she has to give consent for it to be used especially if it's her doctor. If he as a doctor believes his sperm is in fact "medical treatment" then she would need to sign off on this just like she did for donor #106.

I was adopted. My biological parents unknown. I have never had the slightest inclination to track down my biological parents. The parents that brought me up are the only ones that matter. Their relatives are my relatives for better or worse.This woman probably spent countless hours on her search something I can't do....Even if you can find your parents they may not be happy about it because they don't want to be reminded of a bad experience in their past And now an intrusion into their life

I was adopted as well. I wrote some letter to be picked up at the adoption agency and IDK if they were read. I didn't receive anything back. I paid to use the ancestry kit and found some cousins and one close relative. I think she may of been sisters with my mom or half sister or something. I have made some attempts with connections and one of my cousins was really glad to make the connection with me --- he hadn't known who his dad was either. I feel glad I have done this. They said my mom was adopted as well... I wanted to know something. I don't know a lot about my native american side or beliefs and sometimes I feel like my connection with nature must make up for this. When I find feathers --- I am also reminded of my ancestors even if they are not near me physically.

Same I'm adopted but never ever have I have the inclination to find them or find out who they were I dont know why.. I don't feel there's missing in my life like what I have watched from adoptees who wants to find their biological parents. I love my adopted family especially my mom I took care of my mom when she got sick of cancer until her last breath at 2016 it crushed me she's like my bestfriend. I wish in my next life that my adopted mom to be my mom again even if I was adopted again I dont care I just want her to be my mom again. Took care of my dad after.. he had prostate it was just us two together until this feb 2021 he passed away. Now its just me never got married (Im just 37 dont know if I will in the future) but my adopted older brother and sister we are all close and help each other out, my older brother always checks on me if he doesnt see me lol always at my door just checking if i was ok we live seperately have our own homes we're all neighbors.. so I still got family even if I live alone and on my own now and also my relatives aunts, uncle, cousins they are also there for me too :)

I have an ex who was from a sperm donor, she was oddly obsessed about finding her biological siblings and father. Her parents, especially her current father, who is sterile, didnt seem enthralled. I guess its context and other factors in the situation, sometimes it just doesnt seem like a great idea for certain people to track down their biological family.
@smitajky3 жыл бұрын
Everything you say is correct and valid with just one exception. Your real background may be important in identifying genetic issues for a subsequent child of yours and there is always the possibility of marrying someone closely related to you biologically which you might be wise to avoid.

Well even without sperm donors people can have an bunch of half sibblings around. And then when they grow up and leave an bunch of half sibblings around. And then the next generation dose the same. Well the real question is how much inbreeding occurred without anyone even realizing it. This is why I think society should not just sleep around. It's crazy and there are an increase in storys of people having relationship's with close relative with out knowing. Hell if you sleep around you could end up sleeping with you own child or grandchild and how gross is that thought.
@keepcreationprocess3 жыл бұрын
@@windyhawthorn7387 it is criminal, this does not happen often in certain country...does this happen in your country ? with your own family ? where is this ? in which country and in which city do you grow up ?
@windyhawthorn73873 жыл бұрын
@@keepcreationprocess Are you not aware of the fact that people In our society are sleeping around even having short relationships that results in baby's being born. I wasn't aware that the education system was so bad that you weren't aware of sex. There are a lot of people in this world who have an bunch of 1/2 sibblings they know there mom's children but not fully aware of all there father's children. And He is unlikely to know of all the children he has had. Where do you think all the fatherless children come from? The simple fact is mother's know they have children because they carry them. Men can make a lot of children and never know and never want or be able to claim them. There's different laws in different places. There are mother's whos every child has an different daddy. And there there is mothers whos own mom had children with different dad's. And even the grandmother to. Can you claim to not know somebody that has an 1/2 sibbling it's as normal as Mcdonalds right now. When you have an society that normalize sleeping around. You end up with an mixed up people who wouldn't know there own relatives if they met them. And from that you end up with inbreeding. No I don't have any half sibblings in my family. My Dad thankfully was scared of STDs. And well mom grew up believing in Marriage.

Sadly you are probably right. Hopefully though he can be brought up on charges the next time this comes to light; because this isn't okay at all! If the doctor who is preforming the procedure is using his own sperm for the procedure and does not disclose this information; that should be a HUGE ethical violation and criminal offense, He should not be allowed to practice. Donor anonymity SHOULD NOT apply when: the sperm originates from the doctor preforming the procedure; and must require explicit consent from the patient to use the doctors sperm in anyway.
