The dog is in a brand new environment, of course they're going to be anxious. Sheesh, you have to give your new pet a chance to get use to its new home!! I foster cats and sometimes it takes a month or more for them to feel totally comfortable!
@pattiannepascual8 ай бұрын
I also rescue,rehome,train. Some cats and dogs take months, even a year.I take in hospice feral cats when so bad they can no longer stay in their colonies (go blind, deaf, cancer tumors that interfere with eating, etc) - i NEVER use cages or crates.Despite this, some never come around. The cats aren't adoptable so I keep them until the end and have had to keep many dogs for life due to previous abuse and going back and forth from one place to another from both rescues and breeders. Dogs need time to decompress. after going in a new home. The ones already emotionally messed up or not very trusting anymore get 100x worse with every move.

He got a uti within a couple of weeks of him being with us because he would hide in the closet all the time and barely ate or drank. We took him to the vet and got it under control. This lady waited not even A DAY to say the dog was anxious... 🙃 Ma'am. If you put a PERSON in a new environment they might be anxious the first day! You could totally take the dog to the vet. They can give them anxiety meds for the first couple days to help the dog acclimate. They can give the dog an IV if the dog is dehydrated. Also it’s not uncommon for dogs to skip a couple days of not eating when they are put in a new environment. When my family moved, our dog was very slow to start eating again, and she still had us. You can give the dog treats and wet food to entice it to eat, and you can add water to the wet food to help hydrate it. You can put the dog in a separate quiet room away from people with said wet food and water and try that. If the dog isn’t drinking and you know it’s anxious, absolutely take it to a vet. Between an Iv and temporary anxiety meds, the vet will help your dog acclimate to your new environment.

The fact that the lady didnt know how to take care of the dog or get fluids into it proves she shouldnt have any pet. A simple eyedropper to keep it from becoming dehydrated would suffice. But it wont die after 1 day. It was scared of her for some reason. She looks mean. Dogs sense that even if she didnt yell at it. Does she yell at others in the home? Its obvious that home wasnt good for the doggy and she was not a good owner for it. Her face shows that shes been an angry person by its specific lines, no smile lines

Some people wouldnt take the dog back or refund but the lady loved dogs and didnt want the lady to keep the dog if she wouldnt love it after only one day wanting to get rid of it. A real dog lover who wanted the dog to go to a good,loving home. I found a stray that attacked my dog but gave it a home kept separate & went through PAWS in canada where i interviewed families that owned homes,not apartments & found a great family with kids who already found natural raw healthy dog food to feed it so i took the stray for a visit and they clicked. I visited and it was a perfect fit. They sent me xmas cards with his paw print,their cat paw print & their bird foot print lol. We screen people at our humane society. So dogs dont end up in cramped apartments, with people who cant afford them or vet visits and dont hoard animals.
