FYI Postpartum depression doesn't cause the mothers to think that their children are evil. That is a completely separate mental illness. PPD is just depression but unique because it only happens within the first couple years after a woman gives birth, and usually starts right after giving birth.

@@tablescissors I don't think mourning is involved (but it may be that way for some new mothers). I know women can get it even after they've already had a few children, so in that case it doesn't seem like it would be mourning the old self. I never had postpartum depression myself, but I think it's a huge state of being so completely drained mentally that the mother can't enjoy anything and has little motivation, just pretty much running minimal basic survival instinct.

Postpartum psychosis has caused mothers to kill their children.... not Postpartum depression. Just fyi. Postpartum depression is fairly common. Postpartum psychosis is very rare.

That looks like an interesting movie with an unexpected twist, when she interacts with her inner child. It's even believable that after such a trauma as a child, she would have hallucinations like this. But the idea of such a kind of mental illness was a bit over the top.
