What intriguing about this story is he had so many families but took care of each family in a certain way. I have a theory how a man views you is how he is going to treat you and your kids. He literally neglected certain children based on his relationship with their mother. This a sign to protect your womb at all cost. And people are never who they appear to be. So be careful.

I feel for Allison Wilson and it is so impressive to me that Ruth played her. Another commenter said that Ruth Wilson is the grand daughter of Alison. I knew someone in the states who was married with a child in the 60's who lost her husband in Vietnam War. She went to apply for death benefits from Social Security administration only to be told that she did not apply because she was NOT the legal wife and her daughter wasn't the deceased's legal offspring. That is when she learned that he had a whole other family before he met her late husband. The betrayal was so deep and she never quite got over it. What a bastard!! And I feel for Ruth Wilson's grandmother. No one deserves this.

Ooof that was TOUGH! And the movie was dedicated to the wives. What havoc one man can achieve can be done in many surprising forms of sins and lies. But with each child he produced another line of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, etc; hope out of a root of deep despair. Those poor women and children had a lot to figure out, but they had each other. The granddaughter playing her own grandmother must’ve been extremely cathartic and powerful. I’m intrigued and want to watch this one whole, maybe find a book.

Exactly, the first wife Gladys had some nerve showing up at Allison requesting belongings and demanding to arrange funeral. That man obviously was only married to her on paper and nothing else so why even bother harassing the woman he actually played the role of a husband to despite knowing very well he was choosing other women over her. She knew enough to know where he was living with another woman. Some women have no shame.

When some men (the ones who do no regular cleaning or cooking or childrearing) try to convince you that their full-time job and odd household chores (repairs, mowing the lawn) require more or equal time to a woman who runs a household, just remember, only a man could have and hide several wives (and kids). A woman wouldn't have time for more husbands and definitely not for more kids (if she could hide kids, say, through adoption). There are only so many hours in the day to cook, clean, get up with babies in the middle of the night, etc. The last thing you'd want is more toilets to scrub. 😂

Convoluted story! While it IS a question of who lied to whom, it all stems from a start-point, a little white lie from one person. But hiding multiple families from one another is not just a lot of work, it crushes the soul to the point wher the author cannot distinguish between truth and fiction. Sometimes fiction is more believable than the truth. Still, it causes harm, and that is wrong.
