Give it a try - You have nothing to lose if you are depressed. A single infusion cured me, and that was 5 months ago, and I'm still going strong. Some people only need one two infusions to knock them into a better emotional orbit. That's what happens with me. My outlook has fundamentally changed, and I no longer feel anxious or depressed. I'm working again, and just generally enjoying life. No more morbid or suicidal thinking, best of all. Good luck

Had my first home Ketamine treatment last night (thanks to Mindbloom) and this woman explains exactly how I felt when I woke up this morning. I woke up and as I walked into the bathroom, I felt like something was missing, but not in a bad way. I just felt lighter. Then it hit me, I didn’t feel the burden of my never ending “to do list”. I still knew i had a Too do list, but it didn’t weigh me down anymore. Here’s the kicker- I wasn’t even aware of the weight until it was gone. I highly recommended this treatment.

@wienerwoods6 жыл бұрын
Oral ingestion requires a much higher dose. Sublingual and nasal delivery methods work according to the research, but it takes longer for the anti-depressant effects to kick in. IV infusion is different than simply slamming 30mg all at once into a vein. The infusion process is slow. It takes 45 minutes to deliver the dose, and as a result, no dreaded / sought after K-hole. Look into the nuerochemistry and you'll learn that there's a Goldilocks sort of zone of effectiveness for theraphy which involves the slow application of low doses of ketamine at sub-anesthetic (K-hole) doses. Too much overloads the synaptic clefts with glutamate, leading to something called excito-toxicity. Too little, and nothing happens, or it it happens slowly over the course of days or weeks. The brain is extremely complex, and it's biology poorly understood. Same goes for depression. If your back is up against the wall with depression and your choices for ending it are between suicide, a fist-full of oxycontin, an 8-ball of blow, a gallon of Wild Turkey, or 30mg of Special K, I say go with the K. But if there is ANY way you can scrape together $1500 in credit or whatever and you live in the LA area, give Dr. Mandel or another ketamine provider a shot first. You are much more likely to get a good outcome, and I look at the $1500 I spent as the best investment I've ever made in anything.

Heaviness isn't an eloquent way of describing depression. Lack of adequate brain activity is more like it. And, the amount of money they are charging to administer an infusion of a very old, generic drug is fucking outrageous. If healing, treating suffering and compassion is this doctor's "lane" he wouldn't be charging this much money for such a simple treatment.

I agree that I wouldn't trust this guy with anything and the whole video is staged, but I disagree with your opinion of the word "heavy" when referring to depression. There are a lot of ways to describe how I feel with depression, but many times the only descriptive thing I can come up with is saying I feel heavy. Sometimes I feel like my legs are encapsulated in cement and at times when I happen to get a good day, I feel much better and much much lighter.
@Salmagundiii3 жыл бұрын
"an infusion of a very old, generic drug is fucking outrageous. " What is far, far more fucking outrageous is that J&J was allowed to patent an enantiomer of K, one of the "mirror images" of the molecule and charge $6000 for a bottle of it to shoot up people's noses! That is the real crime! Sure SOME K clinics are making money big time off the infusions, but ANYONE doing ANYTHING medical is making big money! I had a large mole on my face I finally got removed, insurance wouldn't pay, the Baltimore plastic surgeon I used owns his own airplane and brags about it on instagram! (he was who my primary care provider recommended as the best, and said his procedure prices were actually not as bad as some) At least with the clinics there is a free market...anyone can shop around to some degree. With "Sprovato", your insurance has to pay the $6000 for $10 worth of chemical, buffer and nasal spray bottle. If the FDA were actually a rational, humanitarian organization NOT controlled by those in the revolving door with big pharma, they would just look at the huge body of medical research on racemic K infusion and say, "obviously, it works. We 'approve' its use so insurance should reimburse it". But that isn't the way our thoroughly broken system of crony capitalism works.

How did the treatments go for the two of you? I'm in the same boat, looking for answers.
@haley85912 жыл бұрын
@@seantv1510 Hi Sean! The treatments have been going wonderful for me! I was diagnosed with PTSD when I was 10 and began feeling suicidal around that time. I’ve had a long standing battle with suicidal ideation, OCD like tendencies, eating disorders (binge eating), anxiety, substance abuse and I’m sure I am forgetting something. But the point is- the ketamine has helped me with every single one of these issues I just mentioned. Every experience has been very different. I have kept a journal to write things down after the ketamine starts to wear off and I have also been seeing a therapist right after the ketamine “trip” is over. It has really helped to talk to this therapist about my experience and we have had some great conversations. Ketamine is definitely unlike any other psychedelic I have ever tried. The first time it was intense and I was nervous and it was a foreign different kind of feeling. By the 3rd one I felt much more comfortable and relaxed. I have had some epiphanies and have noticed a change in the way I am. I don’t know if it will last but I know that right now I am feeling better than I was before treatment. I am dancing in the car sober and singing now… not saying this is going to happen for everyone but that fact that I am doing such a thing is wild to me. I also bring a blanket and a lavender essential oil for every session as a comfort. It has really helped to take deep breaths while the ketamine is being injected and during the initial intensity, even through the entire experience but don’t overthink it ha. I could go on for days about this and all of the things I experienced during the treatment ha.

Yes, agreed, that the audience is clapping on demand. It's like an infomercial for anti-wrinkle products that only the very wealthy can afford. I've also seen ads for investors to partner with physicians, so it's not as this doctor is trying to portray himself--all about compassion and healing. No, first and foremost, it's about making tons of money for investors, and in this case, the doctors are investors first and foremost. With plastic surgeons, it's a different story. They're not trying to portray themselves as saintly healers. With this, because depression is so deadly, it seems almost unforgivable to exploit things as they are. Can't afford a bigger bust or a slimmer tummy? That's one thing. Can't afford to treat a bona fide illness when there is a cheap, out of patent medication to do so? That's a sad commentary on this doctor and all the rest of them. Getting it on the street when you don't know the source, type (yes, there are different types of ketamine), or purity is very risky behavior unlikely to work out well.

I was released from the hospital today. During my surgery I was given Ketamine as a sedation. I didn't know what it was but what the doctor told me is that it will give me amnesia and I wouldn't remember what will happen during the surgery. Now this is what really happened (The effect that it had on me): I died, lived a whole new life of being without a body and total loss of control, died in that life and came back to the surgery room!!! I came back in a hysteric manner. When I started gaining my consciousness back I saw my mother who was crying from my hysteric behavior. Even when I was like 10% conscious I started trying to document what happened to me before I forget. I kept saying stuff like "I'm not a human anymore" and "I don't have a body". The experience was the worst I ever had in my entire life. I'm a 32 year old healthy male. If your anesthesiologist offers you Ketamine for your surgery tell him to go try it himself first then see if he'll recommend it again!!!

For the infusions you are just put into a kind of twilight sedation, you can still open your eyes with effort and I always listen to music and it mostly sounds normal and undistorted. I am surprised to hear that K is being used at all, alone for many medical procedures. My understanding from reading medical lit. and talking to my provider, who is a CRNA, is that is usually only used ALONE for emergency medicine. It's really odd to me to read accounts like your on this thread. Maybe there are some weird sadistic anesthesiologists out there who take delight in giving people a near death experience??? Did you ask him or her why you couldn't have had midazolam, dexmedetomidine or any of the various other sedatives that do not cause a bad trip? Do you have some medical indication for him/her needing to use K? Was your surgery after a traumatic accident? K is sometimes the safest if the patient is on the verge of going into shock, because it is not a physical sedative in the way something like Versed is.

Swallow a pill && your brain will no longer be broken.. even people that go off of the main stream medications & go for oils, meditation just all around different options than swallowing another pill to be "normal". People don't like change, this challenges everything "mental health professionals are taught & are teaching" .. although Shrooms, DMT & even ibogaine have already shown great success in treating mental health with hallucinations. Last I knew Special K (ketamine) was an animal tranquilizer or a strong pain reliever. However if it's showing good effects with depression.. why not? My only concern is addiction. That's if I'm thinking of the right stuff.

Well, I recently had a small dose for a medical procedure, and had a complete nightmare of a hallucinatory bad trip. In seconds I went from completely alert to all the way down the K-hole. It was horrifying and extremely traumatic, especially since I was not expecting that to happen at all. I'm never going to get close to that stuff again. Any drug that has the potential to do that should be approached with extreme caution. Because once that trip starts, there's no counteracting it, and the patient is trapped there until it wears off, or until they are knocked out with something else.

I'll never be lucky enough to get a dr to even suggest ketamine as an option. Who cares that I haven't been living an actual meaningful life for the past 15 years.

I reside in an area where new treatment is way down the road..where do people go to get help with something like this. I live in rural Florida panhandle west. I'm not from here and deal with depression and PTSD c. I'm fortunate to have a decent psych She is open minded about medical marijuana and new treatments but as I said it's the area :-( Why is this drug so expensive ?

Heavy use of ketamine can cause kidney failure and damage they should take this into account as well.

I understand this treatment works and i bet is good for a lot of people... I just don’t like how the audience claps every 10 seconds, they aren’t talking about any side effects anyone has experienced, and they don’t talk about what it does to you or what it does to the brain. This entire video is very commercial, it doesn’t feel genuine or personable, it feels very scripted. There is no such thing as a miracle, don’t market it that way. The woman being treated with the ketamine barely talks, “less heaviness in throat” **audience claps** what does that mean? She had it done only a week ago, that’s not enough time to know its long term effects, short term effects mean nothing... how about have someone on the show who has had ketamine a year ago? She’s also very beautiful, good for television, probably a very wealthy person too.

The drug itself is dirt cheap. My doctor does the infusion off label for $50 session for drug itself. The visit is doctors visit and I do the regular copay.

@@0Dionis0 I don't find people ugly either. Something just rubbed me the wrong way about your comment. Just sit there to contemplate it all after you come back because you're gonna see such crazy and radical things in these trips. That when you come back you're gonna be like what the fuck was that? And you're gonna spend a week just in the shower, what the fuck was that? Cooking your food, what the fuck was that? Driving to work, what the fuck was that? Sitting at work doing your work, what the fuck was that? Thinking that. Trying to wrap your mind around it. Try to remember and trying to figure it out and that's a very valuable process.

Short- and long-term effects include increased heart rate and blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, numbness, depression, amnesia, hallucinations and potentially fatal respiratory problems. Ketamine users can also develop cravings for the drug. At high doses, users experience an effect referred to as “K-Hole,” an “out of body” or “near-death” experience. This is used by Doctors who afraid of going to Jail. so now we have come this Low. This is for Pain, not Depression. It;s a High,

And you could list all the side effects of mdma too and claim that its just a 'high'. But the fact is that mdma is one of the most effective treatments for healing past trauma such as ptsd. So to claim that a drug is a 'high' because it's illegal is frankly ridiculous. Would you say that morphine is just a 'high'? But oh that's okay because the government says that the doctors can use it so that's fine. The fact is that big pharma companies can make a shit ton of money off selling more addictive, less effective anti depressants and so the government, taking money behind it's back, throttles research and trials into the effectiveness of cheaper, more effective alternatives. Educate yourself before you educate others, please.

It worked for me. One infusion cured my anxiety and depression, and it didn't turn me into ketamine addict or a zombie - I just feel well for the first time in my adult life. Tylenol kills at least 500 people per year in America, and many more (like over 50,000) end up in emergency rooms from overdoses: www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2013/09/150-americans-die-each-year-from-tylenols-most-active-ingredient/310814/ That's not counting deaths from liver failure caused by chronic over-use of the drug: www.medpagetoday.com/psychiatry/depression/2233 You see, the problem with Tylenol is that the dose that's effective for pain relief is very close to the dose that's toxic to your liver. 6 500 mg tablets ( 1 every 4 hours) per day is fine. 8 can kill you. www.medpagetoday.com/psychiatry/depression/2233 ...and that shit is old over the counter, and everything from cough syrup to headache pills and Vicodin are spiked with it. If you mix it with alcohol, it become much more toxic to the liver. It's difficult to find any statistics on deaths from ketamine: drugs-forum.com/threads/deaths-by-ketamine.100236/ This is because the dose that gets you high is extremely low compared to the lethal dose. The rare person might be different, but the same can be said for any drug. Asprin kills 3,000 Brits per year, and Britain is about 5 times smaller than the US, so it probably kills 15,000 Americans each year: www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/06/13/daily-aspirin-behind-3000-deaths-year-study-suggests/ Hell, supposedly harmless saline IV's kill 50,000 to 70,000 Americans each year from kidney failure: nypost.com/2018/02/27/the-saline-used-in-iv-bags-could-be-killing-you/ So seeing as how the medical world is such dangerous place. I'll take my chances with Ketamine.

I'm living proof ketamine cures chronic depression overnight, found it in my 30s, haven't had those can't get out of bed for weeks depressions since my first dose. Injection. Infusion is just a scam to relieve rich people of excess money. Injection=95% reaches brain Infusion=98% reaches brain. Injection approx $100 and you probably only need one, though I did it monthly for about 3 months, then every 3 months, 6 months, yearly for about 3 years, then stopped completely because I didn't need it anymore. Only reason I repeated it is because you get habituated to bad habits of depression. Now it's been over 5 years and I'm completely cured. No more can't get out of bed for weeks depressions, though sometimes I get sad or down due to circumstances but that's normal while debilitating depression is not. I highly recommend trying it.

You sure want people to be scared, don’t you? It’s a very low dose treatment so I’m not sure why you think the dangers of high doses would apply.
