A woman on tiktok was so upset about someone else losing weight she decided to express that tiktok is her safe space and talking about health, posting before and after pictures are NOT going to be part of that,. lmfao! Splotchmaker is a fat acceptance influencer who posts on tiktok about fat liberation. She got a lot of pushback when she started posting about a man who decided to lose weight and post about it on his own profile!

That’s also why they scrutinize someone that loses their weight, they did something they secretly want and they hate it. It can also make them feel more insecure about themselves. All these toxic positivity just makes an echo chamber for them to slowly die on :// it’s okay to love your body and yourself but the delusion that being 200+ overweight is UwU im healthy, is not it.

As an overweight woman who in her younger years was on the 'health at every size' train let me just say... there is a reason so many of these outspoken body positivity chicks are in their early 20's. Yeah, at 20 and obese, I wasn't healthy but I was comfortable and manageable. I still had energy and flexibility because I was young. But at over 30? That's when the reality kicks in and suddenly you have bad knees, bad back, high cholesterol and the game of chicken against becoming diabetic happens. It's easy to say 'stop assuming fat means unhealthy' when you have youth as a shield between you and the consequences of your fatness. The years will catch up, and so will the symptoms of your lifestyle.
@LadyDecember

Well said! My heaviest was 240 pounds in my late 20's. Even at that weight, and having PCOS, my doctor said my blood pressure was fantastic, my joints were great, and my blood work showed no concerns. Everything was pretty much in prime working order. In her own words, despite me carrying extra pounds, I was essentially a very healthy girl. But how long would that last? I knew I would still have to do something about it. I didn't want to just coast because I knew I couldn't bank on that forever. Joints deteriorate, the arteries are only so big, and scarfing donuts and cake all day will basically turn blood into fruit punch. Plus, PCOS gives me a much higher chance of developing diabetes, which I really want to avoid. I'm 33 now and lost 40 pounds so far. The 20 year old fat activists always seem to ignore the poor 50 year olds with tubes in their noses, carrying around their oxygen cylinders, or wheeling around in their mobility scooters because their joints have finally been worn down like a bald car-tire. It's very saddening to watch, it honestly is. They live such tragic, trapped lives. The fat activist issues are always superficial ones, like an obese person modelling, or finding clothes that fit. They're completely overlooking the real issue so much that it's almost like they're being glib on purpose.

@@LadyDecember I just recently found out that my cholesterol is a little high and blood sugar is also a little high. I have PCOS as well. I was healthy in my early 20s and worked out a lot before but since getting into grad school everything kind of got put on a back burner. I regret that so much. If I had continued to focus on my health I would not be in the situation I am in now. But there is still time for me to change so I am doing exactly that. What these activists don't realize that the older you get the harder it will be for your body to deal with the weight and problems will start to creep in. I've lost about 30lbs since last year and I am hoping this year to reach my goal weight. I also don't want to become diabetic so hopefully losing the weight will help control that along with healthy diet and exercise.

It's true. The body can deal with 30, 40, 50 extra pounds, depending on your frame (my great grandmother and grandmother were larger women, but were very active) but once you get past that point into morbid obesity the body can't sustain that for long. When I worked with the elderly we didn't have any obese residents that were over 55 years old.

It's not like she's forced to lose weight herself, although recommended she can stay fat if she's happy that way and that's okay. And yes, losing weight with a diet change is a great accomplishment. When I was overweight I was at a high risk if developing type 2 diabetes and suffered from sleep apnea, waking up like every two hours with a panic attack because my body wasn't getting enough oxygen. If a person wants to lose weight, let them do it, he’s proud of his progress and celebrating himself as he should, I don’t understand how the body positivity can say their bodies are none of other’s business but get mad and try to police what others do with their bodies, and are doctors “ fatphobic” when they say obesity is unhealthy? it’s the hypocrisy for me

I'm a 17 year old girl. I had an eating disorder due to PTSD from being abused, and I used to weigh 190lbs at a height of 5'1, so I was pretty chunky. I felt absolutely terrible every day when I looked in the mirror, but I never bothered to change, because food was my comfort. It wasnt until I hated myself so much that i started starving myself and I dropped ALL THE WAY down to 110 lbs in a year. I have been on both ends of the eating disorder spectrum, and I managed to bring myself back to my current weight of 125lbs, it dosent sound like a big difference, but I assure you it is. I'm much, MUCH happier today than i was when I was 190lbs. I found a love of running, and a love of myself, for the first time in my life. I can safely say if I was still the weight I was 5 years ago- I would have sided with these "fat liberation" people, simply because I wasnt willing to change myself for the better, and I didnt want to change, even when I was harassed constantly for being short, but extremely big. I just didnt want to put in the work. These people are poisoning the minds of overweight people, and young adults like myself who are at a weak enough point to believe the crap these people are saying.

As someone who lost 200lbs and still has weight to lose. I'll think it was hilarious if someone attacks me for doing what I want with my body. The same time and energy it took them to criticize me wanting to be HEALTHY, YES HEALTHY because 400lbs is NOT healthy. Then they can use that same energy to do something positive with their own lives. The fat positive and body positive communities can really show their hypocrisy. Instead of criticizing someone who worked hard to lose weight, try being happy for them and don't get mad when they choose to not be fat anymore. I personally think many people are beautiful regardless of their size. But, it's not fun or pretty if it causes a detriment to your own health. I knew I was beautiful at 400lbs but also couldn't take a small flight of stairs or walk 1 block without pain or being out of breath. Instead of them saying that it's fat phobic to lose weight. They need to see it as, it's self care and knowing ones own worth to decide to become healthier and reduce the risk of high BP, diabetes, etc. It's all good and fine until you watch an episode of My 600lb Life and say, I never want to be like that. I never see those same hypocrites talk about the people on that show who are literally dying from being overweight. That's my rant. Love your channel Michelle, Yoshi, and Butters.

Holy guacamole!! That’s an amazing accomplishment hun!! You should be sososososo proud of yourself!!!! I look for unique physical features at first glance, and personality at first actual meeting. If you’re overweight, I’ll never actually notice it when forming and opinion of you. Most people genuinely do NOT care about anyone’s weight. Only time I’ll talk about it, is when discussing gain or loss accomplishments with my fellow “food aversion therapy” moms, IN THE OTHER ROOM FROM OUR KIDS. I don’t comment on weight in front of my toddler, nor do I comment on it with friends/loved ones. If they came to me to ask for help (which quite a few have, because I’m a retired marine, and was a ballet dancer before hand), I would focus solely on lifestyle changes that being excitement, creativity, and fun into their lives. I’ll let them watch the weight drop and acknowledge it for themselves before we ever focus on a weight “goal”.

Losing weight will not just help my health but also make me happy.

Hope your weight loss continues to go well! I don’t think she’s out of touch, though; I think she’s in denial. Deep down (or maybe not so deep down) she knows being obese is not healthy. If she really believed obesity didn’t cause numerous health problems, as well as curtailing her activities, she wouldn’t have become so triggered by that young man’s weight loss. He looked and felt so much better, and that’s something she can’t abide.

honestly this body positivity movement shouldn't include fat or extremely thin ppl cuz it's something that they can change about themselves. because if someone lost a leg they wouldn't be able to replace it. especially overweight people like her act like they are disabled or something.

As a big person, I can understand where the instinct comes from. I was bullied mercilessly in school over my weight. I can understand the frustration of even “good intentioned” people constantly commenting on your weight. But that does not give anyone the right to bully someone else just because they lost weight. That’s just jealousy.

@@selimasadfi2331 I somewhat agree. Of course there is the 0.1 percent of fat people who cannot lose weight and I hear it’s very hard for some extremely thin people to gain weight. I wish the original message wasn’t corrupted: love your body, even the things YOU CANNOT CHANGE. Like girls, boys and non-binary people with stretch marks or cellulite, or those who are a healthy weight but not a size two. Or thin women who aren’t curvy.

@@pwincessbubblegum I 100 percent agree. She is definitely in the wrong here. I also have know people who were insecure about how thin they are, so I know the hurt can go both ways. I was just saying I’ve seen a lot more comments on weight with larger-sized creators (though to be fair it could just be what king Google thought I should see) than with thin creators who make the same content so I understand why she feels insecure. But we can't comment on people like this woman who don't want to put in the extra work and just accepts that she's going to stay overweight.. 🤔 Man, I hope that once I'm done being pregnant and exercise to improve my lifestyle and lose weight, I won't get the same kind of hate. I have MS, which makes it hard to stay active because of occasional nerve pain and numbness, but when I was actually exercising and losing weight, I was feeling so much better and my symptoms greatly improved! She realized that if she wanted to be around for her grandchildren’s lives and her children’s lives she needed to be healthier and make better choices. she is so much happier now, she can go ride dirt bikes and fit into a whole new fun wardrobe and wears dresses now without feeling uncomfortable. it’s so sad that people are shaming people for losing weight to feel more comfortable in their bodies. i’m 5’5 and 223 lbs and my mom has inspired me to start losing weight and keep it off so i can do more with my life and feel more comfortable. people losing weight should not be offending to people.
