Wombats dig about 12 burrows so they build houses for other animals. Hey they can only inhabit one home at a time. It is thought that Many animals survived the fires due to Wombat burrows.

This is 100% true. It's really funny to listen to, and adorable if you happen to be cuddling a juvenile wombat. When they reach puberty though, it heralds a severe biting.

Do wombats have natural predators?
@ABCScience4 жыл бұрын
Good question. One scientist we spoke to for this video has seen birds of prey targeting young wombats, trying to separate them from their mothers. There’s also introduced predators like foxes and wild dogs.
@JWMcLay4 жыл бұрын
@ewok king we don't have coyotes in Australia. There are feral dogs and Dingoes though as potential predators. One of the most shocking and horrific diseases that wombats get is the sarcoptic mange mite, which slowly kills them, and they often end up starving to death. Foxes also spread this mite.

Never had i thought, that Wombats can get THIS fast! And also, the sentence "Piss off you little 🤬🤬🤬🤬!" adressed to a Wombat i never expected to hear, that's for sure 😂 I assume, you all already know that Wombat- Poop is cubical shaped? A huge Fan. Greetings from Germany 💚

Is this video meant to be about wombats or the irritating woman? Why does her reaction matter for an ABC science story?
@JWMcLay4 жыл бұрын
Because science isn't just about facts! One of the ways people relate to science and nature is by sharing their thoughts and feelings about animal behaviour via their reactions.
