I was one of the operators of Shirebrook, and yes that was it's final exhibition under the current builder/owner. It is up for sale, and at 21ft in length it really does need space. It really was a fun weekend, and I am thrilled that I was part of the Shirebrook team, despite not being a GB resident

Great video, thanks for taking the time to film it :) Particularly pleased to see "South Germany to England" as the funicular and museum/depot modules were my contribution. The funicular module making its debut, and only the 3rd time out for the depot - the first time it's actually been connected to anything else :) A fun colaboraton between N gauge modellers from Germany, Austria, and the UK. Great video of the day. I was helping out on the NCI layout (South Germany to England). We had members from Germany , Austria, and England, and their modules participated in these layouts This is just a small layout to the one that will be set up at their Stuttgart N-Convention in November.

It’s very cool, is this part of the same collection that was at the show in 2022?

@WesternSignalman I think the only board that was in the 2022 show was the loop round Bodiam castle. Eight of the boards came from Surrey and Kent. The rest were from Germany. There should have been 2 from Austria, but the gentlemen had car trouble. Stefan tries not to use the same boards at the same show in the following years.

Great video! For someone who lives abroad, visiting model railway exhibitions is quite rare so this made me feel like I was at the exhibition. A shame Shirebrook is being withdrawn from the exhibition circuit (I can only infer). That was at the Pickering Show in 2022 and was an enjoyable layout to watch with all the freight workings and just a solitary two car DMU working the passenger service.

Thank you, yes it’s been confirmed to me that Shirebrook is indeed retiring, under its current owner at least.

An algorithm-pleasing thanks for that. At times I forgot they were all N Gauge - which is a great accolade to any model in any scale if you can't tell what scale it is.

Really appreciate this vid. I booked the saturday off, between my old and new bosses they lost my request so I`ve done 2x12hr shifts saturday and sunday, now enjoying the show with a nice whisky!
