This Issue Has Been There Since Time Immemorial, But It Has Improved In Recent Years, Let's Admit. The System Of Inheritance Is A Major Factor When It Comes To Marriages Between The Akans And Other Tribes. The Ewe,The Northerners, The Ga Adangbe People Inherit Paternally And The Akans Maternally, Especially When It Comes To Chieftaincy. An Ashanti Woman Marrying A krobo or Ewe Man ,The Child Out This Marriage Will Be Chief, If The Lady Is Royal And Her Brother Is The Chief. Very Complex Issue, But Let's All Do Our Best To Live As One People. Cohesion Is What We Need.

What's the guy saying is not true, because most Ghanaians as at now doesn't no those who are the Akans in Ghana. Many people think the Akan is only Ashantis which is wrong, Akan tribes are Akwapim, Akyem, Akwamu, Ashantis, Bono, Ahafo, Dankyiras, Wassa,Kwahu, Fantes, Nzemas, Awoin, Sewhi, Ahantas. All these tribes have everything in common example they share common names and share the same mentality. Nana Ama McBrown is an Ashanti married to an Ewe man nothing has happened to their marriage, I've seen many stars who are from different tribes and were married yet they have divorce. Those who are showing their skin on the media are not only the Ashantis but all the Ghana ladies are doing the same thing. I've seen many different Ghana tribes in USA, Germany and Switzerland who have divorce their husbands and they are dating Nigerians. Two years ago a Ghanaian Ewe man even killed his wife in Austria due to the lady wanted to leave the man. Black African women mostly divorced their men due to the privileges the western countries offer women.

A lot of these issues are differences in our inheritance culture. Some are matrilineal and others are Patrilineal. When these two meet, the Patrilineal dominates, so the matrilineal clan try as best as possible to discourage such relationships. Kids from this union are entitled to both if the father is Patrilineal but they lose both if the father is matrilineal and mother is from the patrilineal side. @@jayeshbrahmbhatt7966 Rest....ethnicity is different from nationality. A child born to Yoruba or Igbo parents in Ghana can become a GHANAIAN but can never become an Ewe, Akan or Ga. Nationality/Citizenship is different from ethnicity. I can be a Nigerian today on paper but that doesn't make me a Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo...please rest. Of course, there is a problem of ethnocentrism in Ghana and we have to work to address it however, inferring that it is "tribalistic" of the program host to ask of where somebody is from constitutes a non-starter. Exactly what I'm saying, when you're born and raised in Kumasi and your parents are from say Axim. That doesn't make you an Asanti but you know nothing about Axim so that makes you a Kumasi guy. My point is if you're Ghanaian you're Ghanaian. Trying to find out someone's ethnicity is not important but rather were they are born and raised is important, in my opinion. Let's stop tribalism.

I slept in a kiosk with my mom for a few months in the 90's when we moved to our land whiles my dad was in school. Today we have mansions-SO out to Mama Rose Tali. There are dynamics. Mind you infrastructure in Africa is not like Europe/US. Ghana is a developing country where citizens have to build with their own money. Chances that a young couple now building a house would move in uncompleted to avoid exorbitant rent is high. Life is a step at a time.

Northerners and Ewe women may be good, however it is very difficult to succeed in life with them. Ashantis, Kwahus and Akyem women are go in for the kill women. They work hard and succeed easily, because they know what they want in life. If you the man want to become successful in life, then go in for Ashanti, Kwahu and Akyem women. If you want to be working and spending by day, then go in for Fanti, Nzema, Bono and Akuapim women. If you want to live in an incompleted building or live from hands to mouth, then marry an Ewe or a Northern woman. Every tribe have got their abilities in life and it is upto the man to choose, where they want to go in life!!!!
