It was shocking because I had never seen or heard a man in so much pain before. He had 3 little girls at the time and came home to find his wife with another man. You even already know in your heart that there are some words that would cause you to act physically even if you want to pretend otherwise - imagine someone standing in front of you, and explaining, in great detail - how they raped and killed your child / mum. It's been an age old tactic of many to say "they threw the first punch" .... but forget to mention that they'd been intentionally saying things for weeks to try and get them to throw it. You'll find that children learn this at a very young age. The problem is, physical violence is easy to prove. Mental "violence" however is almost impossible without continually recording what your day to day interactions with your partner. And even then you can present 100's of hours of evidence to the police and they'll just reply they don't have time to process it (yes, I'm talking from experience here). I worked 15 hrs a day trying to build my company. My wife brought two cops to my door to grab the last of her clothes, snatch my wedding ring, a nice five diamond channel set she got from a pawn shop. Cops didn't have authority to take my ring but considering that she was petty, I snatched the diamonds off her hand in return! Cops said, "seems fair to us." She was shocked, actually. I bought her a car cuz her FICO was ruined, she was in BK when I met her. I'm not a jewelry guy, I only drive company cars and prefer cabs in the city. I walk, I drink, I smell the rain, chill at the beach. She tried to get her friend to make me cheat when she left town to train in insurance. Her friend called, acting dumb, I told her come over and do something. She declined of course because said she was actually a hoe. When she flew home, I had no flowers for her, I had already decided she had to go. I replaced her in two days. I invited my friends from LA to hang for a few weeks so we could drink, relax at the rooftop pool. I was free to work day and night. Rents were super cheap, our divorce was a breeze.
