@@murdoch1717 At the current rate 1:5.40 you should be able to live in Rio on US$1000 per month. That would be over 5400 reais. Depending on where you live and the size apartment you get. A 1 bedroom in Copacabana will be at the low end $1200 -1500 reais per month. There's other things to pay with the rent, so you have to be sure the number they quote includes condominium, IPTU and trash, etc. That could add significantly to the base rent. Gas and electric will probably be R$200 together. Food is really cheap on US Dollars, but does fluctuate in price more than in the US. If you spent US$100 per week, you can have 3 meals per day easily and a lot of good left over. Transportation via Uber or 99 is cheap. In the normal areas around Copacabana it's maybe R$7 from one end to the other. My friend lives 40mins away and it costs about R$35-40 to send her home. The metro works well too and is R$5 per trip direction. That goes from Barra da Tijuca to Centro and beyond. I stay off buses if possible but that's only R$4.05. US$1000/mth will let you live depending on what entertainment you want to indulge in. If you don't go out a lot to clubs, etc you should be fine.

Women in Colombia like all kinds of men. However the general consensus amongst women in Colombia in terms of desired traits are LIGHT phenotypes. “Ojos Sarcos” y “monos” is what they like. Basically European looking Colombians in places like Medellin and numerous other places in Antioquia Colombia; this is the truth. Colombia has people of various colors, ethnicities and admixtures, we have plenty of Afro-Colombians and Afro-Colombians > foreign black dudes all day every day. You need to speak the language well and get some Colombian swagger in order to compete or else you’re just attracting the wrong women who just want to use you. If you don’t speak good Spanish and familiarize yourself with the culture then you won’t stand a chance.

@Neil Stewart def go to Medellin, it is the cheapest of the three, also the weather is just right (80 degrees year round) bogota gets a little cold and cartagena is too hot and they are both more expensive

@Neil Stewart I am a single 38 guy with $3150 income monthly...I have been doing research for the last year on best countries to move to, I was supposed to leave months ago but postponed due to corona. All things considered I have decided on Medellin. It depends on personal preference but other countries with good cost of living are thailand, malta, panama, costa rica, panama and after that almost every country in S America except brazil which is expensive.

I learn to take anything these traveling brothers say with a grain of salt.💯💯 Most of them are nothing more than "Traveling Mongers" that chase whores in other countries and put them on a pedestal. (judging by the content they post on Social media, including U-tube) Also With the dollar being 3x-4x more than theirs you are RICH to them, therefore they view you the same way women in the USA view "ballers". I do agree women are nicer, friendlier in south America, but many of these brothers are Simping for Whores. Most don't even speak the language, so you know what they there for😽
