Thank you Philomena. Potiphar's wife is an interesting woman. We do not know her name. She is defined by relationship to her husband. Even in the story she is mentioned because of Joseph. She represents the cries of so many women in our society.

Fr T, I am so puzzled by Potiphar in this story, why did he get married in the first place? I feel like he lead the wife into temptation. If you are married I believe you do all what's best for your family. Uma uyindoda you protect uyawuvikela umndeni wakho in all aspects. As for the wife in as much as wayengena esilingweni kwakumele ahlale ezifungweni azenza phambi kukaNkulunku. I wish that women can learn to accept their individual situations and not play victims from their emotional experiences.

What this lady did to Joseph is very wrong, but why is she only reduced to being someone’s wife and to her indiscretions? Her name is not even worth mentioning cos we must only know of her as a bad woman. Both she and her husband are victims here, he did not choose to be a eunuch, he was made to be that way.
