Family is priority number one for Sarah Cook. That includes caring for her PeaceHealth family and encouraging her team members to nurture themselves inside and outside of work. Sarah joined PeaceHealth as a CNA. She then became an RN, a house supervisor, and a manager before stepping into her current role as the director of surgical services for PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center.
As noted in her Women of Peace nomination, “Sarah balances work and family in a way that most people can admire but struggle to emulate. Sarah knows what's important in life and at work. At a time when it can be hard to shut off electronics and stop checking email in the evenings and on weekends, Sarah makes time to stay on top of work and nurture her family in a way that is simply inspiring.”
