As a guy, my red flags for a woman are: - Mistreats/abuses wait/service staff. This is inexcusable. - Aggressively dislikes animals regardless of type. I'm fine with having a preference, e.g., doesn't like cats, but not liking animals at all is a bit disconcerting. - Wants to play mind games and/or manufactures drama when there is none. - Refuses to be communicative. If you have a problem but think I need to guess what it is instead of being an adult and using your words, your problem is _your_ problem.

He said "if she has daddy issues and isn't in THERAPY" meaning if she's not actively trying to work through those issues to not carry them into romantic relationships. I think if you have any kind of trauma and have the means to go to therapy, you should. For your own health as well as ensuring that you don't perpetuate the cycle of that trauma.

I don't have long term friends because I have been hurt multiple times in the fact that I valued & put more effort into the friendships than what was reciprocated. When the boundaries or conversations aboit were starting to set in, all of the sudden I'm the selfish one for no longer putting them first.

Don't let it get to you but when you are doing something for friends, I don't think you should be feeling like you are doing something extra or expecting something in return from them. You should act freely with your friends, you shouldn't feel obligated to doing things. If you put others first and your friend isn't always a person like that, so what? Every person has their moments. If you don't feel that way, then is it really a friendship? In a long term friendship what you consider as a problem, shouldn't even exist. That problem should be fixed in the first period of the friendship, or you should accept the person for how they are, meaning their lack of affection shouldn't be a problem later on. Talking about real old longterm friendships ofc not someone you know for couple of months or years.

I have a similar issues to you but sometimes it’s easy to not take accountability on self issues, like specially in over expecting. We have certain expectations & standards, in the way we treat friends & loved ones, so naturally we expect to be treated the same but reality simply isn’t quite that; people simply have different values & ways of treating others. Not realizing this has made me lose a lot of friendships.

Speaking as someone who has only ever had one official girlfriend in his life, I've been alone most of my life! I've been alone in all of my adult years. Am I lonely? Admittedly, I am. I miss that kind of connection. But at the same time, I don't get out much on my own time. I'm a homebody, and I consider myself an ambivert. If I really like a girl it's kind of hard to put myself out there to even ask a her on a date. Actually approaching her to tell her I really like her is very hard for me to do. So it's a little bit of a dilemma for me.

It does kind of seem like a double standard when it comes to the best friend thing. Girls are perfectly OK with having a guy best friend and if their partner has a problem with it then it’s a matter of trust even if she says it’s a platonic best friend. if a guy has a best friend and he says it’s platonic then there’s a problem. You can’t have it both ways. Also, when it comes to mommy issues versus daddy issues, it was a little weird. Because they were saying in the video that mommy issues could be someone is a mama’s boy daddy issues could be a daddy’s girl, and that would be the same thing.

So about the dog situation. I like animals in general. Not sure how I’d be as an owner, but never had any problems with any pets or girlfriends pets except literally 3 dogs, of which 2 were rescue dogs and had issues due to male owners. The third dog only barked at me because I wasn’t on the same floor of the house. When I was on the same area, the dog would be the friendliest thing… until I relocated to a different area where it couldn’t go. Any reason for concern here? I mean seriously.
