@@nicolemariebrown4076 that's not the point, the point is that D'amato won the gold and her performance deserved to be highlighted somehow. They didn't even show her full exercise, if it was Bile's they surely would have shown it.

@francescadelogu5969 if you look at the recaps they do on this channel, that's how they're doing them. It's like if you didn't get to watch the event is shows like a reel version of how it went. They did the same for the ones Biles won or wasn't part of. It's how they package this particular update. In some they just show snippets from the winning routines only and don't show the other competitors. I've seen them do it like this for multiple events...just the highlights

And yet Alice's performance is unavailable on KZbin, Biles 2024 Olympic performances, falls included, are everywhere, even on the most important dedicated channels, which I can understand, but we are talking about a gold medal beam exercise. Popularity, in this specific case, is more important than a real achievement I see. Biles is a beast, we all know that, but let's give some space to the others for once.

@@francescadelogu5969 francescadelogu5969 they don't have the rights to show the full routines till waaay after the current oolympics is over. I'm speaking specifically about this channel. Check the dates the previous Olympics full sets were posted, it's never while the games are stillnfresh. The IOC is very strict about taking down videos that show full competitions in the current Olympic year. I usually have to wait quite a long time to watch the full routines for previous Olympics.

Simone Biles is undeniably a LEGEND and one if not THE greatest gymnast of all times...but it's plain disrespectful how you would show ONLY her introduction and not even one from the girls on the podium LET ALONE THE OLYMPIC CHAMPION'S and put her exercise last after the three podium winners. She is the GOAT and no one is taking this away from her, but other gymnasts deserve respect as well and to be celebrated for their victories. This event was Alice D'Amato, Zhou Yaquin and Manila Esposito podium and moment, they deserve their recognition and solo spotlight like team USA got in other videos.

Na verdade o nível manteve ou até melhorou. O problema é que mudou muito o código de pontuação. Os elementos perderam em valor de dificuldade e foi abolido meio ponto dado à todas ginastas que cumpriam os requisitos obrigatórios da série. A nota de execução tb mudou. Agora são descontados pequenos erros antes ignorados. A falta de artístico tb é severamente penalizada, assim como pausas e falta de ritmo. Uma nota de execução de 8 pontos hoje, poderia ser tranquilamente um 9 no código antigo.

There hasn't been a decent beam final since London 2012. In Rio and Tokyo the medal winners were pretty much just the only gymnasts who stayed on, and in Paris literally only the Gold medalist went through without a mistake.

This became a common thing since FIG started to make difficulty more important than execution and artistry. Until early 2010's, most of favorite to win delivered excellent routines in final events. They used to be very confident.

Normally there is background music/noise at competitions to relax the gymnasts, to simulate gym training. There wasn't that on that day, so the "silence" threw off alot of the girls. Simone talked about it in the press conference later that day, if you watch it.
