Just like the men’s the judging was Shit. How x ups and bars pins near Hannah’s flairs, backflips, tail whips etc is beyond me

Was waiting for this video to see what ”all the fuss was about”. But yeah, wow. What happened to the judges? Everyone rode great, amazing to see the progression so absolutely no hate on any of the riders but… yeah, watching that back every judge must realize that was a embarrassing contest on their part, right? Judging disciplines will always be a pain, but yeah. This was clearly not fair to the riders…

When it got to the top 10 it was great to see a few riders digging deeper into the trick bag and bringing in more variety than the standard tire-grab, x-up, tuck-no, toboggan, barspin and whip. That barspin to table into the 1-foot table on the next hip looked so good. (It's funny to see that sub-rail in there gathering dust.)

The fundamental problem with these Olympic qualifiers is that riders are scored more highly for poorly executed tricks than they are for speed, height, and proper execution. This leads to a lot of turn bars, tuck-no-fingers, one handers, one footers, fly out 360s. All of us who ride bmx know that some of these lower placing women rode better than some of the higher placing ones.

I wouldn't say they were all great riders the first few could only do very basic tricks. It great to see women ride bmx and in comps and have people like hanna pushing the sport for women in BMX.

China is very strong in BMX freestyle, the top two Chinese girls of this final did not get tickets to the Olympics...
