Heading into holiday weekend, Ryan, Channing and Fred are sitting to talk about hot topics in the sports world and reflect before Easter Sunday. With March Madness in full swing and the NFL offseason ramping up, the guys talk through many of the big headlines and what ifs!
When people mention March Madness, most thoughts may head to the men’s game, but this season that mindset has been shifted. Ryan brings up the emergence of Caitlin Clark and they break down how influential she has been for women’s basketball. Beyond Iowa’s superstar, though, Channing and Fred can point to more women’s stars this year with the likes of Juju Watkins and Angel Reese than they can men’s.
While they were divided on their takes surrounding Ice Cube’s Big 3 offer to Caitlin, they agree that it is great marketing either way. In college sports branding has become huge, and the draft comments by Deion Sanders on his son Shedeur and Travis Hunter are evident of this.
Deion Sanders has the grounds to make claims on wanting his best players to go to specific destinations, but the pressure put on them to now perform goes beyond that. Channing says teams won’t really listen to Deion, but Ryan’s take on Shedeur going to the Cowboys could be a power play by Sanders.
Easter is a time spent with close ones, and Chan pivots their conversation to the topic of family and the roles of parents. The Nickelodeon documentary “Quiet on Set” shined a light on the mistreatment of child actors, leading to the bigger topic of how to protect their children. Ryan points to instilling the right ideals into your kid while Fred looks at the importance of staying present and aware for your kids.
The Pivot typically focuses on moments in the past that shaped who people are today, but Ryan alters the question by asking what their biggest pivots moving forward should be. Whether it is wishing for more discipline, empathy or pride, the three all agree that nobody is ever perfect, but a good circle and strong morals go a long way.
New episodes drop on Tuesdays at 12 p.m. ET and Fridays at 3:30 p.m ET on KZbin, with audio available on all streaming platforms including Apple, Spotify and Amazon.

None of them are consistent shilo relies on shoulder lead big hits its hit or miss with that type of tackler but it won’t work in the nfl… Shedeur and Travis still need this year to prove themselves more so Travis needs to solidify which position he will pursue.. prime can say anything but they also went 4-8 so yeah dude so focused on these two boys it just doesn’t seem like the other kids be getting the right amount of attention and it showed last year in the holes both on defense and offense

I really enjoyed the part about something that you could work on about yourself. I'm loving the fact of being vulnerable from these Men publicly. And also the thing Channing was saying about protecting you children at all cost & Ryan saying to teach them about speech ing up for themselves. Parents have to know they're children pay attention to them teach teach teach them and listen to them talk and have conversations often so they don't grow up to have mental promises and so on. I love you guys keep up the good work God bless you and your families. 🙏

Gentlemen, I'm a fan of the Podcast. My youngest son introduced me to it. I love the relationship between you. I love the representation of the fellowship among black men in general, and black, professional, men more specifically. I appreciate the use of the "N" word is pretty much absent from your conversations. This last episode was no different in quality as the rest of your episodes. What I feel compelled to speak on however, is the end of the show when RC asked about Easter plans and a future "pivot" for the hosts. From "my perspective," the answers given by the hosts (to include RC) were so revelatory, at least in my mind, of something that I saw as lacking and an opportunity for me to contribute positively. What I saw missing, was a relationship for each of you, with the Lord Jesus Christ. RC spoke on coming off as abrasive and also not feeling deserving of what Jesus did for us all. The answer is, none of us deserve it. That's what makes it so great. God's death on the cross was the single most greatest gift and act of love that none of us deserve(d). But we need to receive it freely. Then in appreciation for it, and out of a "relationship" those things that RC says he continues to do will be overcome and also the stronghold built up over time can be torn down so others won't perceive him as, as he said, abrasive. Channing mentioned not necessarily caring about the "name" people call God, being spiritual himself. It actually does matter. This is not like Romeo and Juliet, where the statement was made, " a rose called by any other name, would smell as sweet." Not in this case. God executed a very intricate plan to make sure the name of Jesus was known because that name is the only name that gives us access to God and His promises. On the pivot question, Channing mentioned not having empathy (emotionally in tuned) when others are going through situations and circumstances that may not be positive. Understanding who Jesus is and the reason for Him coming and dying and giving us the victory, will create empathy for others as you come to realizing it was love, compassion, and empathy for us that He did what He did. Fred mentioned not wanting to go to church early in life due to not having suits and so Easter is more about the festivities and on the pivot question he mentioned needing to be more disciplined. A relationship with Jesus Christ will provide purpose and create a sense of motivation to share the good news of Christ because you'll understand the importance of the message and the limited time to share it. Thank you for The Pivot Podcast and the positive, public representation of black men.

If you watch Deion Jr’s Well Off channel closely on at least two and maybe three occasions, there has been film of Deion talking to Jerry Jones at the Super Bowl and other NFL events where they edited the sound out. He also made a point on all those occasions to introduce Shadeur and Shilo to Jerry Jones and other top execs at Dallas. I think the deal has already been cut for Shadeur and Shilo to go to Dallas if it can be worked out.

Everyone is talking about what Deion wants for Shedeur. What about what Shedeur wants and where HE wants to be ultimately?! Only thing about Dallas... Dallas fans are fickle & will chew you up and spit you out if you don't perform up to expectations quickly enough to their liking. It can be rough psychologically for a QB in Dallas. Channing is totally right about the Caitlyn offer. A myopic view of that misses the reality of it all. Plus it will insult WNBA athletes. For once, I totally disagree with Clark's reasoning.

While I respect the hell out of Ryan Clark, what he represents and has done in the game of football and the industry... His comments about what Kim Mulkey said about Angel Reese whats holding the Women's game back... Kim Mulkey's statement wasn't trying to make Angel Reese a goon... Angel Reese is the "Big Man" of the team. To put it in context it would be like if Tyler Smith shoved Zay Flowers on the ground and Coach Hardbaugh says I wish he would have pushed Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu like that. The want and need to protect Women in the game when essentially they don't want you to protect them they want to be seen as ballplayers is the issue. We have got to get past this notion. Let them talk smack let them be passionate. Treat them like you would treat a Men's player because I bet if this had happened in the Men's game you would have understood what the Coach was trying to say.

But if Lebron was frustrated and pushed Steph in the same situation, we would say wish you would’ve done to Draymond. It has nothing to do with Angel being a goon, it was more about picking on someone your own size. I agree with Channing.

Gentlemen: your comments at the end are wonderfully self aware. Please consider some time with a therapist who has the background, experience and understanding of people with your sorts of life experiences. Finding such people is a challenge for many. But you have the advantage of both contacts and significant financial resources.

i hear what RC is saying regarding Catlin Clark but unfortunately the WNBA do not allow their players to play with other leagues while playing under contract.
