Honestly, women staying home to watch kids and cook is ok, same with a man doing it. Either way, the kids are important if they have any Edit: Since people are arguing about it, I’m not saying that women need to stay home. As a woman I believe that equality is a choice, and if you don’t have a choice leave that relationship. I brought up kids because every time I see people talking about this their kids are never mention (if they have any). Hopefully this clears up anything :)

Being a housewife is a choice. A very respectable one. It's a lot of hard work being a housewife, so women shouldn't get hate for it. But they should also be able to make their own decisions about a life outside of the home without being judged for it.

This isn’t about how ‘being a housewife is bad’. This is addressing the issue of how most men back then and in power today only see women for an eligible housewife. She’s saying that now we have a women in power that can share her voice with/for us. I’m not saying being a housewife is bad btw, that’s why I put quotation marks Again, I said NOTHING about if men have it harder, if women get more lei way in society, if being a stay at home mom or dad is bad, NONE of that. Yes men have a lot of struggles too, people in general can’t just live life without being judged. Don’t put me in a box that says that I think that men don’t have struggles or that women need to be 100% treated on hand and foot. This is about one single issue, I know it’s not as much of a common thing people know about, and I said men in power because money and all that can blind you sometimes.

@@Acelyn_11 I disagree with helping a bit, atleast on the cleaning and cooking.(except for the first few years after childbirth) People don't realise how much you have to sacrifice to make enough money to support two people. You have to put consistent effort for atleast a decade and during that time the person has to limit his spending and time spend for leisure. Most men and women don't do this. So, they don't understand the idea that we had to put the effort in first and we are sharing that result with another. And the way to stopping rape culture, victim blaming, slut shaming and objection/sexualization against women still have the LONGEST WAY to go because victim blaming, slut shaming and rape issues surrendering women are too much and it's getting out of hand and it's still not getting fixed soon, such a long way to go !!! let's not forget patriarchy, a system dominated by men (still to this day) wouldn't exist if women have freedom and rights everywhere because women can't gain rights within patriarchy since men are still taking power and privilege over it. so no, you're wrong.

Being a housewife is admirable. Being a career-oriented woman is also admirable. The importance is being able to choose the option you want without having pressure put on you to be someone you aren't. This applies to men too. Stay-at-home husbands and career-oriented men are both admirable choices. Edit: I feel like reminding people that this is my opinion and not everyone has to agree with me. Some of y'all make some decent points on the different perspectives of society and the double standards hindering people from choosing. I'm not trying to force my opinion on anyone nor am I undermining that different people have different situations going on 😅

I mean, to be completely honest i am all for gender equality and stuff (not what feminism does right now) But thinking back on the last century...if women would have had the same responsibility as man, then they probably would have had it worse...equal rights also mean to bring the same ammount of work for example....in my country we had times with 14 hours work in factories and still haf not enough money to own a house... Not even 100 years ago it was men and women, but poor and rich... A rich women was just as independent as a rich man, and a poor women was just independent as a poor man...voting is one part, but when you get fired if you do not vote what your boss tells you, doesnt really give you the right to vote...women at least didn't have to work backbreaking jobs for 14 hours a day in a dirty unhealthy factory with a probably daily fatality rate...

Now I make sure to compliment boys who open the door for me or are just gentlemen in general Edit: Geez, I didn't know this was such a divided opinion. For all of you thinking "Oh why can't the girls carry their own bags? Why did he only teach the boys", which sounds sounds incredible stupid to me, the school was to blame. It was inherently sexist and only taught tge girls manners. He just taught the boys chivalry and empathy in return

You are completely right...if you put one down to raise one up, it doesn't make you better...it just makes you an oppressor. For people telling how they are beeing oppressed nowadays while not facing charges for misbehaviour and putting down the other, it doesn't seem like they are much of the oppressed. But if that would be all, maybe all were good...but no, to acgually put people down, they lie about them, soread misinformation and manipulate people through their emotions to make an enemy which can be justified to oppress. As one of the residents of a country which was occupied by nazis, that pretty much sounds like the beginning of nazis and as well line the beginning of communism. Both of which would destroy, divide and oppress until the only thing left is what these ideologies define as beeing perfect, while still putzibg down, banning and censoring different opinions on the basis of national security
