The lady (in red) who spoke to the woman's anxiety: I like very much that she said don't lower yourself to their level (of anxiety). She explained quite skillfully that leaders are not supposed to lower themselves to another person's level of emotion. Part of being a leader is that you stay consistently the same. That's how you provide leadership.

The difference between lying and killing is that killing, in certain places, is commanded. But show me a verse where lying is ever commanded? You will not find one. Be careful not to mix up descriptive passages with prescriptive.

Not gonna lie, I judge a panel of feminists by the wedding rings. Not disappointed. Clearly not a panel of feminists, but just women talking about life.

A theme that I hear here that disturbs me is this fuzzy/general idea that wives are not to actively and often confront their husbands over sin. But what does it say in Matthew 18? “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.” It seems clear that within Christian communities the women (and the men who teach them) have subtly added the words “…unless he’s your husband” to Christ’s teaching here. This is incorrect and I believe a cause for much frustration and suffering. Being submissive to someone and under authority doesn’t mean that you skip on Christ’s command in Matthew 18. Wives SHOULD confront their husbands when sin is noticeable to her. As a Christian…she is the first line of defense in that chain of church discipline. If the husband doesn’t listen to her…she is supposed to initiate the next step and bring Believer #2 into the mix. There are people here reading what I just wrote above who are getting all their hackles up. But seriously…. Tell me where in scripture you fine some qualifier that says that Matthew 18’s command to immediately confront a fellow believer about their sin applies to every believer EXCEPT to the wife. Show me where scripture teaches that being a submissive wife means you don’t constantly and continually confront your husband about sin. It doesn’t exist. Now I’m not saying that the wife should be aggressive or bitchy in the MANNER that she brings things to her husband’s attention…it’s very possible to respectfully point out what is being done wrong and then say something like… “Okay…now that we are in agreement that this behavior you are doing is wrong…what kind of plan are we going to come up with so that we can fix it over time and what kind of accountability system do we need to put in place to make sure it doesn’t just go unaddressed as the various busy aspects of life come to bear once this conversation is over?” Simple. Direct. Respectful. And with a tone that we’re taking it serious and that a plan for change is expected. That can be done all while still existing in a “frame” of submission. In conclusion let me be clear. If you believe that the Bible teaches that Matthew 18 applies to all Christians…EXCEPT the wife…you’re wrong. Full stop.

Matthew 18 specifically deals with church discipline, not personal relationships.
@BrianReplies
@BrianReplies Жыл бұрын
@@jefftube58 it absolutely DOES deal with personal relationships. I mean…what exactly is church discipline supposed to be enforced upon of not personal relationships? Men are commanded to love their wives as Christ loved the church. If a man professing to be a Christian is not doing that…then the steps in Matthew 18 are to be followed. In that case…the wife is also a Christian so she would be the first line of defense. She would be the one going on a one-on-one basis to challenge him about his sinful behavior. If he gaffs her off…she should bring another to confront him together…if he still refuses then they are to bring the issue before the church. This is actually why we are in the pickle we are in. People just “make up” reasons why church disciple doesn’t need to be followed. They make arbitrary rules like “well…that’s personal relationships so that doesn’t apply”. Nothing in scripture says that. It’s s made up idea. If the church HAD been following the principle…a lot of marriages would be saved because the problem would be addressed directly EARLY ON before it was allowed to take root and fester.

At their church they include children, recognizing that they are squirmy and noisy.😀Children are a welcome sign of life. They are encouraged to be in the service so they can see their parents worship God, and listen to the word. They aren’t going to pick up a lot, but they will as they grow and mature. I realize this isn’t a worship service, but it is a church function. Children are welcome, not an annoyance that needs to be relegated to a back room.

@@merecatholicity Oh, so covenant minded people cater to the rude children and don't care about the old saints that are there trying to actually hear what the speakers have taken time to prepare? Actually, the parents are the rude ones not the children.
