Women's Six Nations Round 2 Review - Incredible Rugby!!

This is my review of the Women's Rugby Six Nations action this weekend. What an incredible weekend of rugby! There were some fantastic games and individual performances. Plus, I have to do my 100 burpee forfeit...

I agree with you regarding both Holly Aitchison at fly-half and Megan Jones at outside centre and it will be interesting to see if John Mitchell continues to ring the changes, especially with the versatile Helena Rowland now ruled out for the rest of the championship. I think Rowland is an exceptional player and it's really sad that this is the second Six Nations in a row that because of injury she's started only one match. Another player I've long thought was exceptional is Poppy Cleall and it will be interesting to see if she's selected for the match against Scotland.

Gutted for Rowland. She really is a top quality player. I agree about Poppy, she is class. Hopefully she's able to work her way back into the starting team - although their is serious competition for paces across every position. I think no matter which was selection falls there will be players that we think should and could be selected to start but unless we change to 20 players some are going to have to miss out!

I know Harrison needed game time in week 1 but England looked so much sharper when Holly came on - deserves the 10 shirt especially as she was so good last year. Meg Jones is absolute quality as shown in the PWR where she seems to make the team of the week whenever Tigers play. Worked well with Heard but will be interesting to see her and Scaz together. I used to be a fan of Poppy, but the more I see her play for Saracens the more I feel she’s not Red Roses material anymore. She’s capable, but she often relies more on dark arts and not rugby values so not the sort of role model I want for my girls. Competition is so strong in England too they don’t need to take any chances. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the great work Kat - I was gutted for Ireland and Scotland this week. I was at Ashton Gate too, but that was the least exciting game as it was never in doubt - the other 2 could’ve genuinely gone either way till the final whistle. This is what the championship needs 🌹

I was impressed by Jones at 13 for England. So much pace and belief. She just has to start this weekend. Or move her to 11/14 as not overly impressed with Breach this tournament

She's also just a really entertaining rugby player - every game she adds to her highlight reel. Interesting, I rate Breach, she really knows how to score (that sounds basic but I mean her instincts, timing, lines etc.)

@@KatMerchant I rate Breach too as a finisher. But ideally I'd like to see Claudia Mcdonald fit and starting at 11, as her pace and lines are insanely good. Id have Breach as squad cover for both Dow and Mcdonald. We are blessed with some talented wingers really. And 13 is stacked too now with Jones, Rowland, Scarrett and Aichinson. Id rather go for the gas of Jones or Aitchinson tbf and try develop Scarrett as a crash ball 12 now alongside Heard as her pace has slowed up a bit

I think Scotland will give england a game,but still england for me .the game in week one Wales where not at there but but shouldn't defo improved.all pressure on Wales now they have to beat Ireland sat .

Yeah hopefully that. As an England fan I obviously want them to win but as a rugby fan I love to see the game and this competition specifically progressing - and Scotland giving England a tough game will be best of both worlds.

She didn't have her best kicking day but is a class player. Who would you start Emma over? 100% Meg was outstanding, I'm a big fan and wish she'd had more games in 15s.
