Think of it this way, do you say every word you know in your vocabulary in a conversation?. No you say what's relevant for the conversation at the time. Yeah I would say that discipline = skill level. Sure he could have done more but that doesn’t mean there should be more. Difference between the boys and the men is knowing what tools are in your toolkit and when to use them, not always using all the tools all the time. Discipline IS skill.
