For those wondering why he cries at the end, none of the kids in school ever touch him because they'll get "the plague" (or something). When that boy shook his hand and also complimented him for standing up for himself, I think it was the first time one of the kids (besides his friends) touched him and also valued him. It's an emotional release. Very touching.

@@HS-md1er I'd say he was trying to collect himself or give himself a moment while he was overcome with emotion, hence why he stepped away from the group. The rest joined him to show solidarity and support. Being boys, I guess that's how they handle emotions and how they bond. If they were girls they'd probably be hugging it out and having a good cry! Not all of course.. Looking out to sea may also be symbolic of looking into a calmer, better future.
