I don't know if you read Urasawa's 20th Century Boys, but in that manga he used Wonder 3 as a plot device for the final chapters of the story. He was a big fan of Tezuka's early works

I have not read it but I really loved what you said about it. I got a good grasp of the characters and the story. From what you said I really want to pick it up now.

This was a good review. I think the Wonder 3/Amazing Three are some of Tezuka's more underappreciated characters who still need more love despite W3 being the only Tezuka series that has my interest as of now. I've read the manga several months ago online and while I prefer the Wonder 3 anime more due it having more variety, I still think this was a good read. The Wonder 3 themselves are pretty simple characters yes but I still loved them, Bokko being my favorite for obvious reasons, one of them being why I'm interested in this series in the first place. I'm amazed that you liked how Shinichi was presented in the manga. Compared to his anime counterpart, I found his hatred for how humanity is corrupt to be too exaggerated for my liking and I feel like he didn't learn that much from his experiences in the end. But it was interesting to hear how much you related with Shinichi and maybe I'll think differently once I read the manga again. I believe the Wonder 3 deserve a reboot in today's world, mainly a new anime but a manga would also be cool as well. The topics in the original story are still relevant even today and personally I would like to see how the characters would deal with conflicts based on more recent world problems. Maybe we could also get more development on the Wonder 3's characters as well like how they were before they took their mission to Earth. And of course, more cute Bokko moments and funny Pukko moments. Those are always highlights to me.

I haven't seen the anime so I can't compare. Yeah, I can easily see why a lot of people wouldn't care for Shinichi but his views on the world really resonated with my childhood. A reboot would certainly be interesting and certainly not impossible. After all, if they could do a new series of Dororo then I don't see how they couldn't do a new Wonder 3. Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts. I'm also glad to hear that you enjoyed the review itself as well!

@@ВіталікПелех-х9б What I mean is if you had asked me several years ago if a new Dororo anime series was going to come out, I'd have said no chance. The possibility is still incredibly unlikely but it's not as unlikely as before.

Just finished it, a very enjoyable series! Somethings are outdated, some small missed opportunities and a very weird ending, but pretty cool nonetheless

Yeah, I can imagine that the ending would divide a lot of people but I quite enjoyed it. Definitely a fun read.

Fantastic story by the legend osamu tezuka but.. I had a question about the the ending, can someone explain the ending to me? is it a time paradox or something with what happens to bokko turning into kanako, nokko into mr. baba and pukko into prof. sogi? because it weird me out that, if its the same person, then the ending doesn't make any sense right? Which means from the very beginning, Bokko just being jealous with her other-self(Kanako=Bokko), but what really weird me out is that the timeline W3's punishment get sent to earth without memory, Bokko getting adopt by Kanako's parents and this is the part that should be obvious, there should be two Kanano(Bokko)!! Either it was a oversight by the author or I'm just not getting it? Anybody?

It's been a while since I've read this so I hope I'm remembering correctly (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) but I believe what happened was that, by moving faster than the speed of light, they went backwards in time to before the events of the story took place. Therefore, in the case of Kanako, there was only one of them to begin with. I hope that makes sense as I think they mentioned that in the book.
@White_Tiger938 ай бұрын
@@Immortallium I guess that would make sense but it was never explain or shown in the manga, I read it like twice but.. still didn't found the part mention about they were sent backwards in time before the event. Could've been a great plot twist but..
@tino9117Ай бұрын
Ye they say they were sent back 10 years before the events of the manga take place, so anytime Shinichi was hanging out with those humans, it was them all along, my one gripe is that I wish this was foreshadowed just a little bit, the revelations of those humans not remembering their past and having no navels just happens all together at once after we already are made aware they're them, it's a bit of a mindfuck ending but an enjoyable way to tie it together, it just comes off as Tezuka thinking up a big ending at the last minute
