Gotta remember, television was going through an "anti violence" period (just look at the last 3 episodes of the series) and her action oriented show would have been badly affected. Look at the 79-80 season of The Incredible Hulk, if you can stay awake.

Sorry I never noticed your comment before. I grew up a type of Wonder Woman "Feminist" (and sort of a Captain America Patriot) but my experience with the reality of human behavior, especially real women, taught me not to believe the hype! But I still look at and respect the ideals Wonder Woman represents!

It is true, Lynda did do the helicopter stunt. I'm not sure of all the particulars, but it was late in the day and for some reason, Jeannie Epper, Lynda's stunt woman wasn't around. The director really wanted to get the shot done and Lynda immediately volunteered to to do it herself. It's was amazing that they let her do it, but they did. Lynda and the crew were all chastised by CBS once they got wind of it. That was a major risk! I remember this incident was in all the entertainment papers and mags at the time.

+Reggie Longstreet This is Sort of True. Yes she went up but only about 10-20 feet. Her stunt double did the high stuff...She was reprimanded immensely for this told "not to ever do it again" because the producers who weren't there when they filmed the scene obviously didn't want her to do that again. If I remember correctly the stunt double did film the sequence but wasn't there due to working on another set. They needed another shot so Lynda did it.

She was a bad ass for doing that stunt. Got in some trouble for it too. She talked about it once with Anderson Cooper. She was the whole package.

You're almost right, about 95% but according to one documentary I saw, Epper was brought in BECAUSE of this stunt! Before this, Lynda's stunt double was a MAN, that's why Lynda volunteered to do the stunt because they wanted a close up and a prolonged shot for the scene and a man would have been too obvious.

Interesting question for all you WW fans there were a few WW episodes that were lost and I remember both episodes one was where Diana prince fell beneath a trap door in a haunted house where the spirits where calling her name Diana" I believe it was the first season . The other episode was similar to Fausta Nazi WW but their faces were visible minus the eye mask as this scene took place outdoors in a circus carnival and there was a stage showdown with 2 WW Lynda Carter reprised her role here twice one with a cape as the evil WW and good WW minus the cape . The announcer was announcing to the crowd and trying to convince the crowd who the real WW is by showing displaying of strength by lifting barbell weights . Announcer called in the fake WW with the cape as she lifted the weights with both hands and crowd applauded as she had an evil grin on her face and then the real WW minus the cape was called in to display her strength as she lifted the barbell with one hand and then the announcer signaled the stage controller to open the trapdoor underneath her feet she slid down beneath the stage and fell unconscious on a bundle of costumes. I recalled seeing silver stars and half moons with orange and purple curtains ! I remember seeing this on a sci to the fi channel but never made it to DVD so there are few episodes missing from what I was told ! Anyone recall what i am talking about ?

That shot was from the opening scene of "I do, I do", the eighth episode of the second season. The premise was that Diana "fake marries": a fellow agent so that they can spend their "honeymoon" at a local spa where Government secrets are somehow being leaked.

The Lynda Carter version appeared about a year after the Crosby one in still another ABC TV Movie of the week. I seem to remember it premiering on a Friday night. It was a hit and the ensuing TV show shared a Wednesday night time slot with The BIONIC WOMAN before moving to Saturday nights. Both shows were cancelled by ABC for the '77-78 Season but were picked up by other networks. BW moved to NBC while WONDER WOMAN went to CBS for two more seasons.

+mellodee123 Yeah.. Wonder Woman has a first season run on ABC for about 12 Episodes.. Diana Prince was a yeoman in the Navy assigned to work for Major Steve Trevor (Army Major) in the US War Department fighting the Natzis during World War 2. Then CBS picked it up but wanted it set in contemporary times so She came back with a slight costume re-deisgn and fought along side Steve Trevor Jr. (played by the same Lyle Waggoner) working now as his Co-Worker for the factious Inter-Agency Defense Command. She ran on CBS for a full two seasons and then got cancelled.

The Crosby TV-movie was intended as a backdoor pilot for a future TV series. Lynda Carter came in second to Crosby during the auditions. When the Crosby project wasn't picked up, Lynda was tapped to play Wonder Woman in a re-worked series ... and the rest is history.

Agreed. Kathy Lee was essentially playing a combination of the Original WW and the de-powered, secret agent "New Look" WW which had been abandoned in the comics by that point. Lynda played the REAL Wonder Woman in all her glory! DC is now celebrating the 75TH ANNIVERSARY of the character!

The only 3 worthy adversaries to trouble Wonder Woman in Season 3, were Formicida, of which was just a 40 second throw around in a warehouse made of cardboard. Gault's Brain who's telepathic abilities briefly attacked WW with objects before he escaped and lastly was the Alien Caveman who brawled with WW in a barn before being put back in his crystal.

I thought that season 3 had some really weak storylines and it was always Diana Prince who was always in peril and not Wonder Woman. I always thought that the episode The Fine Art Of Crime should have been the final episode of the series but with an alternate ending in which the bad guys end up winning at the end.
