the next day it seems that air mass was over new england...flying that day we had quite a few pilots between 10-11K and one intrepid russian pg pilot was at 13K(!)...3 pg pilots broke my 22 year old site distance record (hg) that day...( i'm playing the age card on that though :-) ) no one here ever remembers a day like that in new england....and, as usual, nice vid mike!

Ice crystals then the Vario at 7:30s (what was the climb rate, it sounded crazy!) and the other glider landing (seemed like a predator drone was circling over the target) haha. Totally brilliant👍

@@MikeBomstad yes I noticed and it was intense that you said wow! It was like one of those sailplane moments. Here in VA we have small punchy thermals. It's so hard to stay in them. The wing pitches hard and by the time I turn it's like I'm doing a wing over. Any tips on how ride small bubbles better?

@@BariFPV More speed, turn tighter, really tight, however tight to stay in it. (sometimes when they are too small, i'll get a few beeps up and one down. I watch my alt and see if I gained or lost anything if playing in it is worth it.) You'll be surprised how tight you can turn and still climb in some thermals

@@MikeBomstad thanks for the tips. When lift is less I start to widen and flatten my turns to avoid too much sink from high bank angle. Next time I'm just going to stick it :)

@@JonMcG normally that's such an enjoyable sound but at that altitude at that temperature all I'm thinking is oh no. And it just got better and better and better. Some days you work so hard to find Lyft other days it just hits you in the face and you can't escape it. Some Middle Ground someplace would be nice
