Wow! Another viewer alerted me to this cadeau video when they contacted me to tell me they had bought my book after watching it! I sent the postcards and my book long ago and had completely forgotten about it! Thank you Stephanie for your heartfelt reading. I am blown away by such genuine excitement, interest, and the raw emotion Tatina and Nattie expressed as you did so. And thank you for all the kind comments as well. What a wonderful, supportive community this is! Just to update everyone - I'm in the process of buying a (petit) chateau in the south of France near Agen. I'm super excited and hope to close at the end of August! Gulp! I might just wind up with my very own channel someday! Thank you to all! XO, Abby

Just so you know, flapjacks in America are basically a pancake cooked on a griddle. Basically, we use the term pancake and flapjack interchangeably. They are not a bar. However, we are famous for things like lemon bars and seven layer cookies etc

The horror of 9/11 will never go away, and as a New Yorker it's devastation, loss and constant reminder of a forever changed skyline. will always be a big part of New York. I feel her pain and cannot wait to purchase her book and tell so many people I know that she has written it. I am very happy she has found peace in her new life, and Lalande is a bright spot in her day. Thanks Stephanie and all at Lalande for being a beacon of brightness to a lot of us. Love from NY.

The story that Abby relayed is so spot on. I’m only a year and a half into being a widow and just now stopped crying daily. 9-11 was so devastating and my heart goes out to Abby. Traveling was our ‘thing’ and after a year, I had to see if I could do it by myself - I went on a Rhine river cruise !!! So now that I know I can do it I plan on visiting all of you at La Lande soon. Hi everybody! Gorgeous video, as usual. Love all the thoughtful gifts! For some of us who have been trying to track down the artist Catherine who gifted Stephanie with the gorgeous fairy art a couple of weeks ago, I have found her info and have purchased a couple of items! She is delightful and so generous. She has a KZbin channel called “I paint beauties” and her her name is Catherine Stenhjem. And just for the record - flapjacks and pancakes are the same thing in the US, only flapjacks are cooked on a griddle! Lol

I feel slightly confused. I feel a strong need to go back in time to this Stephanie and warn her that her dress hanger bar thing is about to fall down and the only thing she's going to have to wear is that beautiful cat dress. I can't wait to see if Kirsty has success with those blue poppies. Years ago they were a big fad and everyone in our neighborhood tried to grow them but no one managed to. You had to put them in the refrigerator for 2 months to simulate winter before the seeds will germinate. It will be interesting to see if she has to do that or if there are now blue poppies that don't require refrigeration first.

I can only do it on stamped material and larger stitching. Thank you all for the love and fun you bring to us all and so much( meaning to me, as well,) of course. How do people get the sizes so perfect? It amazes me how they can guess as your size in clothes? i cannot find my own clothes to wear as it can be a little big or small or whatever. Abby's story reminds me of my family. My father passed away in a plane crash when I was 5. My mother had to learn all the same skills Abby did, but because we were Canadians living in America (my father was Canadian military stationed in Anchorage) my mother was forced to come back to Canada after only 6 months. My sister and I were so young (my sister was 8) we never really saw the full scope of our mother's grief. Just hearing the back cover of Abby's story has reduced me to tears. I know she's touched many of us.

I just ordered Abigail’s book! Can’t wait to read it. My MIL and my Mama lost my FIL and my Daddy the year before 9/11 at young ages. They both never remarried and lived life unapologetically afterward. My MIL always saying, “He wouldn’t have wanted me to be sad all the time!” My mama just didn’t talk about Daddy at all! “Too painful!” She would say. Now at 83 with Alzheimer’s, he is all she wants to talk about. I hope the book will give me some insight into the lives of the two most important women in my life and help me remember two of the most important, precious men in my life. Thank you Abigail! Little pronunciation hint: the toy company Steiff is pronounced with an i sound, not an ee in the middle. So, like the word life, just with the St in front, which you already correctly pronounced as a sht. 😅 German is hard!
